The referee made one bad call because the lineman raised his flag. Even if that mistake wasn't make there is no guarantee that Spain would score a goal off it as Carolus Rex pointed out. If Spain were really that good, how come they didn't score any goal during both extra and regular time? It was a Spanish player who missed his penalty kick while the Koreans scored all theirs.

Even though I picked Spain as the WC winner, credit must be given when it is due.

He made two bad calls. Each one cost a score to Spain.

Nobody in the thread has said that Spain was that good yet. Certainly not me. Both teams were simply good with Spain in my opinion better. Yes, Spain did a bad game with Ireland and the latter should have won but Spain played well (not excellent) in the rest of her games.

I believe that Korea was greatly favored:

      a) Spain - Korea

      Two cancelled Spanish goals.

      b) Korea - Italy

One cancelled Italian goal, one disputed penalty for Italy (From the replay I saw it seemed it was a panalty but not 100% sure), one Italian player out (unfair in case it was a penalty indeed).

      c) Portugal - Korea

Two Portuguese players out, the one pretty early unfairly with direct red card (I've seen at list 20 fouls like that already) and the other with two yellow cards with the second one completely unfairly.

Korea is a very crappy team. I am so furious... this is it... MY COUNTRY WILL JOIN THIS RAGE!

Spain is an good team, we got excellent home teams sometimes we don't do so well overseas when a Worldcup occurs. But we certainly did won the game against Korea.

Now no matter what some of you people say, this world cup has been FIXED. And I got the evidence to back this up.

No you don't. And you should have been beaten by Ireland.

YOU KNOW WE WON THIS. KOREA FIXED THIS GAME. THEY SHOULD BE DISQUALIFIED.

well yin, just watch it. try stealing the game against germany and you better dont send your team to germany 2006

oh yes, korean political corectness....apparently, korean fans are the best. what about those 'korea is the tomb of the azzuri' posts? why not 'korea is the graveyard of koreans'? (more accurate) if we made any postsigns like that on european games in europe, we'd be fined....

World Cup 2002 was an excellent story. We saw more upsets then ever before, and a lessening of the gaps between the best teams and the rest of the world.

Not to mention Korea's awesome run!

Incorrect. The most you can claim is each bad call costed a potential score for Spain. I didn't see two bad calls, only the one where the inside ball was mistaken to be outside.
