Re: World Cup 2002 - A crappy story...

    Just read the referees below

    Head Referee: Egypt
    Assistant Referee: Uganda
    Assistant Referee: Trinidad
    Fourth Official: Quwait
Errr...so just because they come from these nations they shouldn't be able to be a referee? Good one.

And the King of Excuses comes in to play. I would have thought he'd be too busy still making excuses for buggy software and inferior game developers. Same line of work, though.

          How you win:

More goals in the net despite any referee calls you disagree with. If the Spanish had been more intent on scoring than crying to the referee, they might have won. Alas, the children were spanked...!

Of course, your previous posts are telling me that you don't watch much football, don't know the laws of the game...
So you who supposed you watch football you must have seen lot of games ending in a corner

Strange but nobody asked on that.
I guess you afraid to admit it

it's just less likely that they have played in many serious matches this year

Yes, I have. I remember one very clearly, a few years ago, when either Wimbledon or Crystal Palace were playing (it was at Selhurst Park), when the corner was taken and before it reached the penalty box the final whistle was blown. There have been others since then, but that stuck in my head.

So according to your opinion a team must score three times to have a clear win? Sorry for that but what a rediculus perspective

So now you will claim perhaps that Korea played well?

                              Hmmm

On the telecast i saw, both of the "clear goals" were offside. They did a slo-mo replay and it was crystal clear that the Spanish player was offside. IIRC in one of them, 2 players were offside. Last I checked, offside is a universal rule and not specially created to screw European teams

According to these boys, the fantastic referee Ali Bujsaim of the UAE would never be allowed to do matches like the opening one of the World Cup, because he referees in Saudi Arabia . In fact, why not bother including those dirty non-European nations at all?!
