      Yes, according to M*A*S*H anyway.

But, I do believe that is correct.

        1. Cal, you really, really need to give the race threads a rest.

        2. A lot of these inventions don't seem properly attributed. galvanic battery mostly Faraday's invention. elavator: Otis, etc. I suspect that some of the people who are being given credit for "inventings something" actually invented some small precursor or modification.

        3. Surprised we haven't had a joke about the gliders flying around the Pyramids, yet...

Could be. Like I said, I'm just sayin' what I heard.

Sorry guys, looks like another urban legend.

Dr. Drew died on April 1, 1950, after a car accident in in rural North Carolina. Although there is a legend that he died as a result of being denied a blood transfusion and medical care from a "whites-only" hospital, Dr. Drew got immediate medical attention, in part from the other doctors (his friends) who were in the car accident with him (but were less severely injured). Dr. Drew was admitted to a mixed-race hospital, but died after being treated for massive internal injuries. A U.S. postage stamp was issued in 1981 to honor Dr. Drew.

"Several rulers were, as Egypt was controlled by Ethiopians for some time."

Not to mention that about half the population were Nubian...

I think some of the early dynasties were Nubian, as well as at least one of the Middle Kingdom (or was it Intermediate?) dynasties.

More importantly the people that built the southern temples and monuments were...Abu Simbel (which is very impressive by the way) was.

So, yes...a lot of the ancient Egyptians were black...possibly even most at some times.

I don't think the Egyptians look much different today than they did thousands of years ago. It's one thing to use the term 'black' when describing the racial characteristics of the Nubians, but let's also remember that black does not equate to negroid. Trying to horn in on Egypt's accomplishments is a shame, and puts the remarkable story of how the Bantu (negroid people) overran and populated the majority of Africa in historic times. Keep in mind that for the majority of recorded history Egypt held a majority of the entire human population of Africa. In fairly short order the Bantu took over the population lead and displaced the pygmies, bushmen etc. into the badlands, and conquered the continent from West to East to South, with only a technologically superior Sahel holding them off.

                  RocknRoll.

Without the black immigrants in America, it would never had existed.

And that's A BIG ASS INVENTION IF YOU ASK ME

The Nubians I saw 2 weeks ago were fairly negroid...nose, mouth, hair for example. As, indeed, are the statues and pictures on most of the Nubian monuments...to me that says that the Nubians were very much 'black' in all senses of the term way back at least to Ramses II and earlier.

Otis Boykin invented an improved electrical resistor used in computers - radios - television sets and a variety of electronic devices. Boykin's resistor helped reduce the cost of those products. Otis Boykin also invented a variable resistor used in guided missile parts, a control unit for heart stimulators, a burglar-proof cash register and a chemical air filter.
