What program is that supposed to be ?
I know nothing about this.. but it wouldn't suprise me considering parts of russia used to be east prussia/germany. I would expect many russian cities to have a great many germany speaking people.
Join the army, travel to foreign countries, meet exotic people -
and kill them!
LOL, I've read that Russia is going to build a huge nuclear power plant in the Kaliningrad region. So, Europeans, it's your choice: the plant or a coridor.
Actually, there must have been projects by some weirdos who were to exploit the alleged instability in Russia as well as a poverty in the Königsberg/Kaliningrad region for pretty nationalistic tendencies, such as advertising the regional population to join the federal republic of G., after doing some repopulating of the area with Germen migrants to Russia, such as those that were driven behind the Volga by Stalin when the war began.
Is that what you're talking about? When I first heard about it I found it hilarious, I mean it would basically re-create the corridor situation, but it seemed to make some sense back then
Oh, and btw the Potsdam accord gave East Prussia to USSR for administration for 50 years, kind of expired in 1995...

I will find a couple of nutjobs who push that idea. The part I wonder about is the government program. There are support programs for the german minority in the CIS, but what resettlement program ? Where did you get that ?
Saras... the partition treaties among the victor powers had a Soviet zone in mind that basically had the shape of the 1937 east borders. The guys just never took it for serious, thought Poles were easier to handle than Germans. In reality, the Poles had their counter revolution first.
I don't think there's anything Germany can demand when it comes to WWII debts
Well Roland, I haven't heard a thing about government support for that sort of programm either, I thought thpse wee only supported by some odd former army generals and stuff.... but government support? Dal, are you sure you're not simplifying things and mixing them up?
Germany : " Yes, we know we were lunatic nutjobs back then , trying to kill most of the world's population, as they were unworthy. But .... what about the Kaliningrad Oblast ?! "
