And you could at least have included a couple of skiers on EPO, like Kirvesniemi or Hämälainen. And who was that ski jumper during the nineties? Mika. something.

about Larry Thorne. I just read that some people in the US are making a film about him. The script has been made already.
I believe he is considered as a hero or close to one in the US military too. He first fought viciously against SU, when war was over, he joined the germans, so he could continue his fight against SU. He was jailed and whatnot, escaped and finally came to US, fought two tours in Vietnam, was some kind of specialist and trainer officer, until his chopper was shot down. His comrades still believes he's alive in some vietnamese village because his body was never found. Just some time ago they discovered the crash site, found his gun etc. They took lots of DNA samples to identify him.. but non of them matched that was found in the crash site, so legend lives.
There are lots of stories about his deeds, and our former president Koivisto was in his troops too. His long patrol group (simular to guerillas) went once on a mission and took out about 300 enemies which was confirmed. None of his patrol took even a scratch. His name was Lauri Törni, but when he moved to the US, he was known as Larry Thorne. He quickly came an officer (i believe in the rank of a major) in special forces.
He would make a great movie though..Last edited by Pekka; May 30, 2002, 05:07.In da butt.

Provost Harrison, That's because he changed his name to that when he came to the US. His original name was Lauri Törni.In da butt.

Hey, that Stefu's link to Finnish proverbs was great, check it out everyone. It still did lack one of my favourites...;
Don't cry little child, for tomorrow they'll hit your head with a rock.
