Very disturbing, but I guess that's just me being overly prudish.

Seriously though, one has to question the motives of a ten year old girl buying a thong, and also her parents for letting her have/wear one.

Thongs for kids is just an evolutionary advance. Many older women like them, so why do y'all want to deny that kids might as well?
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

most men really have no clua about the most important reason for a woman to wear a thong,
it has nothing to do with sex appeal or wearing sexy underwear.

women / girls wear thongs if they wear tight trousers to avoid that you can see their pants through them.

thus, in that case, if young girls wear tight trousers as well, they should be able to wear a thong as well.

Of course you can raise the question if it's acceptable that young girls wear tight trousers, but in that case, focus on that discussion.

I have to agree with CyberShy on this one. I remember an incident in first year in the cafeteria. It was at supper and I was sitting at the table with a lot of the girls from my residence floor. Anyway, some other girl passed by our table and she was wearing a long dress that was tight at the waist and was made of thin fabric. You couldn't help but see that she wasn't wearing a thong because it was that obvious. So as soon as she was out of earshot the girls started yattering away that this girl should be wearing a thong if she is going to wear clothes like that.

This then prompted a discussion between, I guess, the thong wearers and the non-thong wearers (I just kept my mouth shut and listened ) about how comfortable thongs were. The girls who had never worn one seemed to think they were uncomfortable ("wedgie" got mentionned more than once). The ones who did had a different view of things. They agreed that thongs could be uncomfortable but that they could also be comfortable if you got one that fit properly. They also argued that since girls' underwear always seemed to "ride up there anyway" you might as well just accept it and reduce the amount of fabric that could go "up there".

That's when they realized that I was there as were a couple of other guys and so they changed the subject.

I can't say that I'm in favor of the sexualization of prepubescent children.

I thought that thongs were specifically I type of swim wear. Aren't they meant to be worn on the outside? Even if they are worn as underwear what would be the point of a 10 year old wearing one? Who is she going to be undressing in front of to show it off to? Daddy? They already make a type of underwear designed to not show under tight pants. Have you ever seen a 10 year old girl in really tight pants? I mean so tight that the cleft between the labia shows? They come into the clinic wearing that stuff all the time, some are even younger than 10. It's really disgusting, but I always hold my tounge,

                I didn't need that image.

I really think Dr. Strangelove needs to go on my ignore list if I am to ever return to this thread.

I'm not bothered in the slightest. It takes more than a 10-year old to make me feel sexually threatened.

The thongs also have sexually suggestive prints on them. Pretty sick IMO.

For 10 years olds? Where did you see/learn about this? (not that I particularly want to see, but just so that we know you're not having us on). If this is true, then they really have gone over the top.

My friend who works in Debenhams was telling me how they now sell thongs for 10 year olds. Why would they need to do that? Seems disturbing...

I saw them on "The O'Reilly Factor". I cant remember the prints exactly, but they were somewhat sexual.

Well it seems to be going towards a situation in 15 or so years time where parents will simply put their daughters in thongs as soon as they're beyond the diaper stage. After awhile, no one will realize it was ever any different and they'll regard what girls wear now in the same way we look on bloomers (which, I'm told, weren't all that comfortable either).
