    Official Star Wars Kicks Arse Thread

    I just saw Attack of the Clones and it was unbelievable. This was definently the best of the five Star Wars movies and maybe the best movie of all time.

    The sci-fi graphics and scenery...heaven.
    The plot...duplicitous and clever.
    The love story....sweet, and it doesn't suck up too much time.
    The battles....more action than should be legal to have in a movie.
    The charachter development...everything comes together.

    The creativity present in this film is astounding: the ships, the clothes, the buildings. This film is truly beautiful to watch. Clones is the difinative science fiction masterpiece.

    I want the DVD.

      It may be good, but I think you over estimate it's quality. I'll tell you next week for sure, but it better be pretty damed good to beat ESB.

        Did we see the same movie?! Cuz the one I saw, also titled "Attack of the Clones," was horrible. Boring plot, horrible writing and dialogue, wooden acting (especially from the Anakin, ugh), and characters as deep as puddles. And cliche after cliche after cliche.

        This wasn't a movie, it was a bunch of barely connected scenes wherein there were lots of pretty, if sterile, special effects. Big ol' YAWN for this one. The fact that it stank even without Jar Jar being pervasive proves he wasn't the fault of the last one, it was bad on its own right.

        Stick to the Empire Strikes Back. At least those characters are worth caring about...

            Hmm

            I agree with you on the AOTC is a good Star Wars movie but it still is not as good as Empire. Why you ask? The insanly poor love scenes! I almost fell asleep at the 12:01 showing during that very boring scene with the big pig thing. BUt where this movie comes off strong is in two specific parts. When Yoda does Monkey moves to fight Dooku and when Samuel L. cuts off that damn Jango Fett's head. Overall it could of been better but it was good. Also that stupid Anakin needs to STOP his whining.

              I haven't seen the movie, but the acting in the previews (where they usually hilight the best parts) seems to be done by an Amateur Theatre Troupe.

                I can't even say that. I really so no difference in the quality of the two films, other than the blessed lack of Jar Jar. But it still stank, I thought.

                      Lucas has the incredible ability to kill the characters people like best and leave us with Jar Jar and Ewoks.

                        Some of the dialogue is cold, but that's classical acting. You could say the same thing about Shakespear. I like the classy and dignified conversations. The pauses, and the looks on the charachters' faces tell so much. This isn't some 90 minute comedy full of obscenities that no one will remember two years from now. This is a film for the ages and, as such, demands a proper presentation.

                              WHAT?! Have you only seen college productions of Shakespeare? There is nothing cold about great Shakespearian acting. Just watch on Olivier film. Or McKellen, for that matter. No decent Shakespearian actor I know (and I know many who do Summerstock here in NY) would find a bit of truth in this statement. Ludicrous.

                              The looks were, for the most part vacant. They didn't tell anything, because, thanks to Lucas's crappy directing, the actors had no clue what was going on. It's not their fault, it's his.

                              This isn't some 90 minute comedy full of obscenities that no one will remember two years from now.
                              No, it's a pretentious, 2-hour borefest that no one will remember two years from now. Like TPM, it will collect dust on video shelves.


                              This is a film for the ages and, as such, demands a proper presentation.
                              Ages 6-10 only, it seems. Anyone wanting more intelligent filmmaking must look elsewhere...
