No, I didn't say that. I think porn is bad.

You're objectifying women because you have been watching porn, which makes you think it's an alright thing to do. You have been desensitised to women being sexual objects.

I agree. And by that same token, women who watch porn are objectifying men.

I'm sorry, but humans are intrinsically sexual beings. There's nothing unnatural about a naked women, or watching people have sex, providing that they've given their consent for those pictures, or video, or whatever, to be taken. No-one's being made an "object" of, no-one is being exploited, and if you're offended by it, then just don't ****ing read it!

Probably not, since the roles of women and men in porography are not reversable. Men, big, hairy, out to conquer (sounds like Urg the caveman ), and women are the ones to be conquered.

I don't think that I have found objectifying women as acceptable at all... I see guys in the hallways groping girls, and it makes me absolutely sick. I, in fact, am entirely opposed to felettio because I see it as a woman "servicing" a man, and I don't like it. I would never insist that my girlfriend does it, and I don't like it that other guys do. I have had friends who have wanted to get girls drunk so they could do that... THAT is exploitation. THAT is objectifying women.

But I submit my earlier statement : How is mentally visualizing women or even seeing a woman who is beautiful or "hot" and being attracted to her any different than watching porno?

UR : I think you're being sexist... you're setting a double standard that women who enjoy porno are NOT objectifying men just because their women.

Really? Since when? Im sure there's plenty of porn out depicting dominatrices enslaving men and the like. And what about men's gay porn? Does that entail an intrinsically exploitative relation? Im not putting you on. Im curious to know

All kinds of porn objectify both men and women. Since men watch more porn, there is more female objectification. That's what porn is supposed to be. Just plain sex, not romance, not a relationship, just doing the NASTY!

Plus, advertising objectifies women a lot more than porn. Where's the outcry towards advertising?
To us, it is the BEAST.

Sava, this is my point. Watching sex doesn't make you objectify women. Sava is right as well because advertising DOES objectify women (and men) as well.

If we do away with porn, we have to do away with Britney Spears and every other female sex object in the entertainment world. In fact, if we were to do this on the basis of principle, we'd have to have all women entirely clothed so that we are not enticed by only their physical appearance... hmm, that sounds strangely familiar... like another society that I can't quite put my finger on....
