  • "Now consider the permutations of DNA to be data, as the output of the algortithm"

I am considering that. What is the point?

    Comment

    • Stem cells become neurons, those stem cell/neurons during the developmental process are prompted by amino acids to form more or less bonds with neighbours. An area of the brain which has been prompted more will have a stronger path.

DATA... not information. The stem cells create information from the data.

        • Everything is ultimately in the DNA. There are no brains even in existance in an egg. The brain developes according to instructions in the DNA that are interpreted.

          • and the instructions are data.

and the stem cells are cell neutral, and each just stupidly 'looks' for a different gene or combination of genes...

              • They are much more than data. It is true meaningful information.

                • no it contains meaningful INSTRUCTIONS (to dumb stem cells for example)

                    • However you look at it there is meaningful information that gives meaningful instructions that are followed and they in turn give feedback information.

                      • a natural process... with no magic or intelligence, uses the instructions (the DNA data) to build a replica of those instructions... effectively the process is a natural data processing event.

and the resultant cell structures are the information.

                          • Well yes it is natural. But it is based upon information just as we could say that a computer runs naturally (or automatically). But the source is still intelligent value judgments so that the program can run and communicate (either with a person or another computer.

                            • stop saying DNA is information.

Giving that it could have spontaneously combined.

                              • There could be lots of erroneous DNA...

You are considering all DNA to be perfect... we are not.

erroneous DNA would mean nothing... just a missed chance... a useless lottery ticket.
