I had only heard that he denied being homosexual, never that he wasn't bisexual.

The police records for him have shown definitely some bisexuality in his past. If he's not now, well, then he's not.

What's the deal with Sidney Poitier, Halle Berry and Denzel Washington all winning important categories or recieving high honours? Is this another bout of American political correctness or did they REALLY get them (actors) for the acting? I liked Sidney Poitiers getting the honorary one and all, but two more for afros, isn't it a bit obvious? Particularly with teh Academy's history of politiking...

I loved the In Memoriam part with Anthony Quinn as Zorba the Greek as well as the Film music medley directed by John Williams.

I can not speak for Halle Berry, but Denzel most certainly did earn it for his work in Training Day.

I'm not saying they didn't deserve them, Doc, but the Academy should try and be a little bit more subtle...

Subtle? About what exactly? Giving the awards to the people who had earned them?

Berry though was an interesting choice. No one of 'the experts' (TM) had her picked as the Best Actress, so it was a something that made you say
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

This is typical example of the racist crap people have to face on a regular basis.

Denzel Washington is one of the greatest actors of our time. There is no doubt about his ability. Halle Berry has been widely praised for her performance (I saw a dozen articles that listed her as the actress who deserves to win, but wouldn't).

They both deserve to win, but when they do, the racists come out and claim they only got it because of "political correctness."

That's pure BS. They won because they deserve to win, not because of their colour.

The sad thing is the racists who can't even acknowledge that Washington and Berry won on merit alone.

No one ever says, oh the white guy won because he is white, yet black men and women have their accomplishments insulted by those who claim it was just about race.
