Really? Beautiful Mind was good, I suppose, but Gosford Park was awful, and the only redeeming quality of Moulin Rouge was Nicole KidmanAny other year, LotR would have taken alot more. . . but there were some GREAT movies out this year. . .

I would have liked A Beautiful Mind had it actually been accurate.
People should look up what John Nash was really like, particularly about his bisexuality and his runins with the law.
I liked LOTR. It's a fun flick to see. Beautiful Mind is just one of the artsy movies everyone clobbers over at these award shows."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

Emotionally uninvolving crowd pleasers never win B Picture, even if they do make a lot of money and have a huge influence on the biz (Star Wars, anyone?) OTOH, emotionally manipulative films (Titanic, English Patient), especially those that deal with "diseases" (Rainman, Terms of Endearment) tend to win. Advantage: Beautiful Mind. "
