I agree with you on ST (hell, I ahve the special edition DVD, and have actually sat through the direstor's commentary), but Paul Verhoeven is not American, he's Dutch
. He's also responsible for such classical "bad that they're good" movies as Showgirls, Basic Instinct and Total Recall....
but he lives and works in USA... I saw "Soldaat van Oranje" a few years ago, it´s from 1977 and stars another famous dutch export: Rutger Hauer.

Abosulte crap movie, which I hope you haven't seen. I was basically forced to watch it on an airplane, it was soooo bad. Ok here it is:
Cocodile Dundee III.
Anybody who saw the part where Dundee and his son meet Mike Yyson and says he's a nice man will know what I mean. This movie is:

Blair Witch Project: OK, it's not really good but it tries to make such a interesting thing as a realistic horror film. That's worth credit
The Matrix: A pretty nice action film with a pseudo-philisophical twist, nice
The Crow 2 : Haven't seen, no comments. The first was pretty nice though.
Pulp Fiction and Resevoir Dogs: Those films started a entire new genre, how can anybody list them as worst films ever?!
