      I loved Being John Malkovich.

      It was so weird.

I don't even see why this question is up for debate. It is impossible for any movie you could name to be more abomnible than Battlefield Earth.

Being John Malkovich was pretty lame...and I like John Cusack movie normally

Cruel Intentions was bad Even if it wasn't a rip off

King Kong- Which one? Or Both?

I read the book, and because of what I heard, wouldn't even drive past a theater that was playing it

I assume we're not doing "So bad it's good" movies like Plan 9 From Outer Space or Showgirls. I'll also assume we're skipping movies that never, ever had a chance of being good, like Children of the Corn IV. So that leaves (in approximate order, starting with the worst):

                          Tarzan (Bo Derek version)
                          Blair Witch Project
                          Congo
Lost Highway (I love David Lynch, but this bit)
Wonder Bar (1930's musical featuring a blackface number called "Goin' to Heaven on a Mule," in which Al Jolson dreams of pork chop trees and possum pie groves. Also features dancing watermelon slices and a craps game with St. Peter. Must be seen to be believed.)
Endless Love (edges out Blue Lagoon for the hotly-contested title of Worst Brooke Shields Film -- though I admit I haven't seen Brenda Starr)
Moment by Moment (intergeneration love between John Travolta and Lily Tomlin )
                          Drop Dead Fred
Rat Race (a hideous ensemble comedy I saw on a plane recently)
                          Anti-Trust
"I have as much authority as the pope. I just don't have as many people who believe it." — George Carlin

Being John Malkovich? Pulp Fiction? Election? I can understand "most overrated" or "I couldn't stand it", but worst? I wasn't the biggest Being John Malkovich fan either, but I can see how other people would love it. And you gotta admit: some parts are funny. John Malkovich as a puppeteer? He getting hit by the side of the road by some redneck who calls out his name? "Hey, Malkovich!"

None of those have sunk to the depths of these really, really bad movies: Mannequin, Ghost, Dirty Dancing, Battlefield Earth.

                            Anyway, my list:

Coast to Coast - Dyan Cannon in a trucker movie. I was 12 or so when I walked out of this movie.

The Boost - James Wood goes on a downward cocaine spiral. Movies where people lose all their money really depress me, especially if they do it of their own vices.

The Hitcher - A painful movie to watch, this had possibly the cruelest death ever filmed.

                            Rhinestone -

Staying Alive - Truth be told, Laura and I laughed our way one evening through the horribleness that is the sequel to Saturday Night Fever. Cameo alert: Watch John Travolta bump into a furred-up Sylvester Stallone on the streets of NYC!

Stop! Or my Mom will Shoot! -

                            See? These are bad movies.

                              Good list, Rufus.

But I'm wondering why so many people hated Blair Witch? I thought it was a hell of a movie.
