I've never said "all generalizations are right" or even that a valid generalization is "always accurate". All I said is that certain generalizations are true and that true generalizations are rules which hold "most of the time".
Which is true takai for instance since I set him straight a few days ago he did not like it. His personality would dictate he will continue to spam threads I am in. I generalize his personality based on experience (life) majority of times it is true (right or wrong). In his case a point is made. Asher same thing "generalizations" are not right or wrong. But experience will dictate a rule of thumb "which holds most of the time". For instance "sales" and the art of is based on generalizations, and fact.
"Generalizations" in this form dictate a narrow focus so to speak but can in fact encompass a large audience. Case in point "marketing"...right or wrong it may or not be accurate but "most" of the time it is...."The Gut Feeling", Mothers, Fathers intuition" etc...Religion for instance one would generalize it causes strifr to man kind...one would assume that and one would be right...Therefore generalizing religion as being negative to humans based on history would prove correct as far as wars etc...“The Communist Manifesto was correct…but…we see the privileges of the capitalist bourgeoisie yielding…to democratic organizations…In my judgment…success lies in a steady [peaceful] advance…[rather]…than in…a catastrophic crash."Eduard Bernstein

Hey, do y'all think the village idiot hat is too small for wiggy and blackice to share?"Mal nommer les choses, c'est accroître le malheur du monde" - Camus (thanks Davout)
"I thought you must be dead ..." he said simply. "So did I for a while," said Ford, "and then I decided I was a lemon for a couple of weeks. A kept myself amused all that time jumping in and out of a gin and tonic."

"I thought you must be dead ..." he said simply. "So did I for a while," said Ford, "and then I decided I was a lemon for a couple of weeks. A kept myself amused all that time jumping in and out of a gin and tonic."

Nah, they're both small men
Case in point....
This is exactly what I am refering to remember this as you will "generally" see it again and again...sometimes generalization is fact again cases in point...“The Communist Manifesto was correct…but…we see the privileges of the capitalist bourgeoisie yielding…to democratic organizations…In my judgment…success lies in a steady [peaceful] advance…[rather]…than in…a catastrophic crash."Eduard Bernstein

because it is 3:40 in the morning, and i am stuck at work with nothing else to do.
because DM will stay up just to argue with me.
because it takes LR 4 pages to realize he proved my point.
and finally because blackice is a rambling bafoon."Mal nommer les choses, c'est accroître le malheur du monde" - Camus (thanks Davout)

I'm waiting until I'm tired.
I thought that this thread was so boring it'd make me tired pretty quickly, but instead I find myself wide awake pondering the immense stupidity of a poster here."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
