Thats why it is a thread hijack.
So you mean introducing values/politics was my hijack? OK then, let´s leave morality/policy out of it, and discuss strategy totally unbiased and value-neutral. Taking US tech superiority into account, my question is: what should the Taliban do to kill as many American soldiers as possible and minimize losses of their own?

    • Good news on the war front, the al Qaeda dropping like flies, over 700 may have died in the most recent Operation Anaconda-- all this compared to minimal losses on the US side.

Did I miss something? Or is this about the "new plans" being drawn up for nuclear weapon use in certain nations?

            • Part of me is wondering if Slowwhand is watching a mushroom cloud rise over Dallas. The rest is just confused.

Dallas, huh? Don't get my hopes up.
                Just kidding, Sloww. Sorta.

                • No, I'm just saying that following the thread, it comes out about small nukes.
Just odd. That's all I'm saying. I think the notion is a bad idea.

From that perspective they should disperse and avoid engaging US/Allied armed forces entirely. They can't match them in training/firepower/mobility or almost anything else. They should never have tried to consolidate forces so soon after the Taleban were routed from power. Their only real strength lies in stealthy attacks conducted on isolated military targets of opportunity and upon civilians. ie: Standard Guerilla/Terrorist tactics.

I think you underestimate them (a bit). They have numbers, and motivation. But I agree, they should wage an unconventional war. Still, they need a sort of power base for that, too.
