tho I fear that a great many ladies regard my poetic intensity as being too much to be around for extended periods--a bit too....how shall I say it...."out there" for most--

"Poetic Intensity" too much??? What are they...crazy? You've described what I would have to consider a perfect evening. If this is any indication....what's so "out there"? Sounds like a good place to be.

Master Floyd: I can just bet you ARE looking forward to it! Tell us about the lucky lady!?

Rav: ::grinnin' like the big ol' fool that I am:: Heh....I DO like to keep surprising everyone....

Lady Ishtar: Got me blushin' all the way to the bald spot on my head...LOL What can I say? In my experience, most ladies say that they *adore* that kind of intensity (and the kind to be found in the poetry you'll find lurking on my website--http://www.angelfire.com/sc2/hartpence --under the link entitled "Vel's world") but when suddenly face to face with it....they enjoy brief stints in that place, but no more. Don't know why that is, exactly....a mystery to me.

At any rate, if the evening sounds like something you enjoy, then you're more than welcome. Stargazing by oneself is not nearly as much fun....

And in case anyone's curious...NO....Ishtar and I didn't "plan" this conversation around this thread.....In fact, this is the first evening we've talked. She appeared and we started talking...and there ya go....

I don't have any problems with women even though I don't play any games. As a matter of fact I am against playing games in this area.

My advice is to be comfortable with and confident in yourself. Just be natural. A little nervousness can be a gigantic asset.

There was an interesting anecdote. Several weeks ago I was waiting for a friend in a subway (called MTR locally) station. When she came out from the station I waved at her to get her attention. There was another woman walking right in front of her and she just happened to look in my direction when I waved. She actually blushed thinking I was waving at her.

                Glonk,

Yes I went through that before in a thread called "Geeks as modern day white knights."

                Boshko,

Vel~ now you've got me blushing!! No, guys...not a planned conversation. I just thought I'd ask I guy his opinion on how a girl could "get his attention" without appearing ... well...you know. Little did I know that one would actually carry on a conversation with me. :-)

DF: What was it about her that REALLY caught your eye? What kinds of things does she enjoy talking about, and how long have you known her--just met or a long time friend, or a friend-of-a-friend kinna thing? (and btw, brush up on that astrology! )

                        well...

first thing i noticed was that she looked unbelievably beautifil to me...physically just about the ideal for me...
i've known her in passing this semester...we first met for real when we were assigned a presentation together...we got together to study today, did that for about 45 minutes (she came to me), then just talked for about 2 hours...totally lost track of time....we talked about everything from family, school, and hobbies to past relationships and current status in that regard, w/ a lot more in between...

                              Good going, Floyd.
Even with the broken arm you manage to court a beautiful girl. That takes talent.
