nah, while a lot of kids do, i never had a problem with boys and girls kissing. chasing girls around the playground and kissing them was one of the most popular activities at my elementary school. Besides, you can probably guess that homosexuality isn't a really big topic here, and kids are generally introduced to it much later than other places...

"Mal nommer les choses, c'est accroître le malheur du monde" - Camus (thanks Davout)
"I thought you must be dead ..." he said simply. "So did I for a while," said Ford, "and then I decided I was a lemon for a couple of weeks. A kept myself amused all that time jumping in and out of a gin and tonic."

Also, times have changed a great deal. It was a lot harder to have premarital sex when you were married at 12 or 13...And a lot easier to avoid adultery when you had 8 wives"Mal nommer les choses, c'est accroître le malheur du monde" - Camus (thanks Davout)

I think it's funny how a smart guy like you is so oblivious to how your Baptist surroundings fuel the fires of hate and intolerance for anyone different, even though you persistently claim you don't hate them. You just admit to being a bigot, and say you do not like a huge crosssection of the population because you don't approve of their sexuality.
It's wrong, it's stupid, and it's hurtful. Any smart person would see that.
You're the stereotypical die-hard Christian (yes, I realize most Christians aren't like him -- and I'm not talking about those people). The teachings of your college and surroundings have instilled in your feeble mind from a young age that homosexuals are sinful deviants that have no place in society, which is why Baylor doesn't permit them.
There is quite simply no rational way to defend the actions. You're of course welcome to keep doing it, but don't be surprised when you get fired from your job and sued for discrimination once you enter the real world."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "

Of course, wrong to your set of standards, not his.
I agree with you DM, but I was just pointing that out.Today, you are the waves of the Pacific, pushing ever eastward. You are the sequoias rising from the Sierra Nevada, defiant and enduring.

I wonder if you tire of announcing your "dislike" as much as we tire of hearing it.Exult in your existence, because that very process has blundered unwittingly on its own negation. Only a small, local negation, to be sure: only one species, and only a minority of that species; but there lies hope. [...] Stand tall, Bipedal Ape. The shark may outswim you, the cheetah outrun you, the swift outfly you, the capuchin outclimb you, the elephant outpower you, the redwood outlast you. But you have the biggest gifts of all: the gift of understanding the ruthlessly cruel process that gave us all existence [and the] gift of revulsion against its implications.

well..he's saying he's not..
he seems to be saying I'm Christian and so what other people do is a sin and wrong in my eyes but it doesn't matter what i do. I basically USE christianity for my benefit and as an argument only when it supports my predjudiced andbackwards philosophies.
and contrary to what kaak says, homosexuality is a very big issues right now. Recently, Baylor Freedom has formed ..it's an unofficial campus wide support group for gays and it has the campus in an uproar. so..kaak..perhaps YOU need to be the one to get your facts straight. this is absolutely pathetic.

Remember back in the day when it was thought that being black was a sin? Well I don't, but I've heard about it. Philosophers and theologists had many a "logic" explaination for this. I think this big debate about sexuality is just like that. Hopefully, years later, we'll look back on this and be like "what the fork were we fighting about". Or maybe not, cause there still are people who think black people are from the devil. Christian morality is irrelevant to people who are not Christians, Jewish morality is irrelevant to people who are not Jewish, Islamic morality is irrelevant to people who are not Muslim, Hindu morality is irrelevant to people who are not Hindu, and . . . . oh well, I'm boring myself by explaining the obvious.A lot of Republicans are not racist, but a lot of racists are Republican.
