That wasn't exactly my point, but whatever...

            • well it's been around since 1886. Not a whole lot a history, but more than a lot of things around here...Texas really doesn't suck as bad as you think it does and like i said, I don' think canada sucks, but if i come it would be in the summer! and if you come to Texas in the fall or spring, the heat isn't bad...

The point was you suggested not coming to Alberta, when you've never actually been here yourself and don't know what you're missing.

I'd definitely rather come to Alberta than Texas, because there are lots of very similar things (people call us Texas North) except we've got a weaker dollar and the rocky mountains at the same time. Seems to be better bang-for-the-tourist buck.

Considering Calgary only HAS 900,000 people, and there are NO suburbs (closest is many hours away), that's pretty good.
Now, what sort of sense does it make to compare the population of a city viz a state?

Edmonton is only 170 odd miles away - that's a mere two hour drive, Asher.

Anyway, the real statistic is unique visitors as opposed to total tickets sold, but I bet that there is no way to get that statistic for either of these fairs.

Btw, "We have a large cattle show" does not a tourist destination make.

Well, one is a city event, one is a state fair.

                        Have you ever driven it?
It's more than two hours, it's about 1.5 hours to Sylvan Lake which is half way between the two.
Double that time if it's winter.

Btw, "We have a large cattle show" does not a tourist destination make.
How about public schools that teach grammar?

I'm not trolling. You're being a rude asshoIe, and I'm just wondering why? It's not like you have any personal stake in this - if I recall correctly, this thread was started so that someone could get some advice on traveling and all you have to add is:

"I spent two whole days seeing this one state from the highway, and since I'm a whiny, moody teenager and was mad at something/somebody, I decided not to enjoy myself and piss on everything that I see. Now I'm relating my experience."

Just grow the fvck up, willya?

When you understand the rules, that's when you can break them.

Anyway, my sentence structure wasn't wrong, just archaic. If you were truly as educated as you like to think you are, you'd realize that.

I never claimed to be an English major.

You're the one that can't admit to a typo...

Typo? Did I screw up on a comma or an apostrophe again?
