the point is this: why would i go all the freakin way to calgary when I have something bigger and better in my back yard. Calgary just doesn't seem to have anything extraordinary
The point is this: Because Calgary's is not just a state fair (you have to be there, I guess). It's a world competition on top of the fair.
There's more to Calgary to just one show.
Don't worry though, you don't need to know about it. Stay in Texas. God forbid you visit Canada, because there's nothing there.

In reality, I would like to go to canada. I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time there, but i think it would be a nice place to visit. You know, hang out with the eskimos and all that... I like the hot and humid better than tundra tho

The eskimos and tundras are all about a 1000 kilometers north of where I live.

Just a state fair? sheesh...ours isn't just a stock show and rodeo (or world competition as you like to call it), we get a football game too and a lot of other stuffffffff

Hey wow, College football games. Definitely a huge plus.
Yeah, the BigTex looks comparable. But it's just a state fair, when it comes down to it.

No, you see, there are seriously many Americans who believe Canada is all tundras an eskimos.
I **** you not, several believe I take snowmobiles to school
The international rule with dealing with Americans is to assume they know absolutely nothing about your country, and work from there.
So we dumb things down for you, you see...

Do you have visitors from Asia to see your State Fair?
There is a Calgary Stampede float in the Hong Kong parade, and we get tons of visitors from Asia especially.

lol...I tried to tell you that I am not typical. I'm trilingual, well traveled, and if nothing else, i've been to alaska and played with the eskimos and seen the tundra...
Jon: about 13,000 undergrads...
But you are right, a lot of people are stupid, but not just americans. most people from europe ask me where my boots and hat are when i tell them i'm from texas, then ask me if i ride my horse to school

Nonono, that's way different.
I'm a minority in my school when it comes to Asians.
I'm talking about tourists that come here for the stampede, from Asia.
