Europe's buildings have a bit more history behind them than the Texas one.

Go to mexico...The Banditos would love to get ahold of your ass
I've never had a problem when I've been there.

Didn't I tell you that I've been to switzerland? Now those are some mountains...
      Indeed, the Alps are awesome.
But it's FAR more expensive to go there, and they are actually different mountains, after all.

      Umm..great a stock show...We don't have those in Texas...
You didn't even bother doing research, I see.
It's not just a "great stock show".

haven't you ever heard of southern hospitality? The people here are as nice as one could hope to meet!
Provided you're CHRISTIAN and provided you're not a MINORITY, sure.

I've never had a problem with the air here. besides. great, clean air. can't get that in colorado...
Sure you can, but you're still using American dollars.

OOOoOOooo Bones....wow...we don't have those here either...
      Actually you don't.
Do research about the Alberta Badlands.
      It's one of a kind.

You see what you miss when you're a complacent ******* who doesn't want to visit Canada?

By your logic, there are very few places anyone would ever want to go =( Glad I don't see the world like you do...
No, I just don't like to go to places that have nothing special.

      Like Texas.

I love travelling, but just to INTERESTING places.

The lakes aren't as cold as you'd think. Especially Sylvan Lake, where there's a huge waterpark built around it...

        does canada have theme parks?
No, only Texas has theme parks...

can canadians tube down there rivers.
        Yup.
Some of the best whitewater rafting is out here, too.

I'll give you this asher: we don't get snow (cept in amarillo) and we can't ice fish. but we get tornados!!!!! woohoo!
i guess it would do you no good to come here because thought you have spent most of your life in only two places, you seem to have alread made up your mind.
I've BEEN there, I'm never going back.

hmm...sorry i didn't do enough research. I just went to www.calgarystampede.com and it sounds a whole lot like several events we have in texas, and not nearly as much fun as, say, the houston rodeo and livestock show.

No, only Texas has theme parks...
Texas does have the MOST themeparks...

Some of the best whitewater rafting is out here, too.
tubing and rafting are two very, very different things!

Overall, I really don't see any reason to go to canada. I would rather go to FUN places than go to see cows and horses (we have plenty of those here) or bones.
Provided you're CHRISTIAN and provided you're not a MINORITY, sure.
You should have spent more time in Austin, it is about the most open minded town on the face of the planet.

And DM is right, you should go to San Antonio to see the River Walk, Alamo, etc, and the other major cities in texas. It has a lot to offer if you would give it a chance.

Anyway, I guess I could come to canada to look at the trees. Oh, NM, we have those here too...

hey now..i live here. and the hospitality is great. (edit: apart from the baylor bubble..but i'll be the first to tell you that waco is a kitty litter box.....but that's just a tiny speck in this great state)
actually no..europe just has more CIVILIZED history a opposed to our deeper history that includes the mexican and native americans.
hey asher: there are things interesting in texas ...enough to make your trip worth while....two friends whom i know care a helluva lot about you: david floyd and myself.
and does your stock show have llamas and reba mcintyre??????

You're right, millions (literally) of people attend it because it's nothing special.
Bands like Collective Soul, Nickelback, Tea Party, Finger Eleven, etc. (plus TONs of big name country bands I don't care about) all come and perform for the event because it's nothing special...

Texas does have the MOST themeparks...
Where did you pull that figure?

Well, now that I think about it, I'm glad you decided that.
I don't think you'd be very welcome here.

You should have spent more time in Austin, it is about the most open minded town on the face of the planet.
Try me, I lived in San Francisco.

              You're such a typical American.
              God bless you.

I'm not spending thousands of dollars to go to a place that's hot as hell, humid as hell, filled with overbearing Christians, just to meet two people I don't really know from the internet.

and does your stock show have llamas and reba mcintyre??????
                  Actually, yes.
Reba plays on the country stage, though.

btw, 2 years ago, US news and world reports said that Austin had more gays per capita than SF...

and it isn't hot right now! or humid for that matter...

Not very surprising at all, San Francisco is actually a very small city.

The area is what I'm referring to.

asher: austin is a smaller version of san fransisco. we get those bands more than just at a stock show....we have plenty of tours that come along the I35 corridor..major ones like TOol, NIN, MARilyn Manson, Ozzfest, Fuel, etc etc (and the country singers are just a given. lol)
kaak: lol. i'm in my own comp lab in memorial (where i live). enemies: well, i basically stand for everything that you go against...soo....it would stand to reason....the only thing we have in common is a general like of our state (but not our campus )

Yeah? So do we. Got a bunch of friends going to Ozzfest in March, for example.

But these people all come and play at the exact same event.

It's not a stock show, it's a huge Midway, Stock Show, Rodeo, Music festival, etc.

Hell, Walrusskkkruch or whatever his name is came up here just for the Stampede last year.

So what's your big outdoor festival called? Where can I look up information?

Because Texas accents suck. I hate those so much.
Because Texas is too religious on average. Tells me something about the average mentality of people there.
Because Texas' landscape is nothing exceptional.
Because almost every Texan I've met pisses me off.

I hate to interrupt this battle, but I have two pieces of advice for our prospective tourist:

                                1. You have to see the Grand Canyon. Most beautiful place on earth.

                                2. Do not go to Nebraska. Not that you would, I just want to make sure you steer clear of this place.

                                Have fun man!
                                KH FOR OWNER!
                                ASHER FOR CEO!!
                                GUYNEMER FOR OT MOD!!!
