    • Don't worry Jon, I'm just a seasoned veteran, play for a few more decades and get a few titles under your belt and you'll be able to compete

I'll play Cockfoster, why not start on the outskirts for a change? Few people try this tactic, as demonstrated by Gordon in 1983, but can be a potent intro. He lost the game in the end to the super Hammerstein, but it was touch and go at times.

      • Better try for a Hammerstein then...

        • I beleive I have the problem of not considering my opponents moves enough

it is much easier in two player

At least that leaves open North Wembley for anthoer two Nisbets (I see you two were not familiar with the Northopton Circus Maneuver)

Provost, are you sure you still have your amateur standing? (you did mention titles and all)

recently, in 1997 I beleive, The Council of Numberland Ruled that professionals could not play in Lumpton style games which I beleive is the style we are playing (I did have to look up the Nisbets and all)

This of course completely put out Robert Talbot, and he was kept from his winning move in that year

          • sorry, I realised that my post was somewhat incomplete

in the last statement I was of course refering to the Etten Game of 1997, where Talbot's opponent delayed until the council ruled therefore saving him the game at 243 moves

Of course, but it seems that you were unaware that as soon as Cockfoster has been 'taken', that move becomes rather dangerous, as a simple reverse Northopton counter-switch will display.

              Nisbets = Nisbets + 5

              • Not a major junction play in sight. Have you left your testicles at home, gentlemen? Are we dressed up in pink cardies and talking about dolls and knitting?

I eat raw flesh and poke jaguars up the bum. Earl's Court and I damn you all as a minceing bunch of mimsies.

                  • 3 month rule Line closure (Circle Line. Well, ok, any line)

That would make the Prinz-Neismith opening allowable, and enable me to take Mornington Crescent.

                    • Yes, you would, if we would be playing the original se of 1965 rules, which we are not, because in 1998 the rules were amended to modify internet play, and the modification clearly lists that using a Prinz-Neismith, or any opening at that, can not lead to winning the game.

                      • King's Cross

Playing by virtue of the Sydney Parallel dimension rules, all opponent's Nisbets are instantaneously reversed in their polarity causing them all to be spontaneously attracted to my Nisbet pile...

Seems like victory will be mine - short of some kind of heroically miraculous plot device thwarting my dastardly machinations with only seconds to spare...
