  • Belgium being crazy and hypocritical or "Can't we war anymore?"

Now the Belgian parliament decided that Shimon Peres should be trialed for the bombing of Lebanese territory during "Grapes of Rage" operation, consisting of bombing Lebanese territory during 1995, as a relataliation for Hezballah activity and especially shelling Katyusha missiles on Israeli cities.

This seems very politicized since this was a military act, in response to para-military terrorist activity from Lebanese territory, by Lebanese terrorists.

If they try Peres, they should try the Brittish for bombing German cities during WWII.

Currently there's a case awaiting against Ariel Sharon for his responsibility in the Sabra & Shatilla massacare, though he has already been trialed by a special Israeli investigation court.

This is also very politicized, since the Commander of the Christian Phalanges, the man directly responsible for the massacare is not tried, and IIRC is currently a minister in Lebanon

    What next?

    How about more deserving trials:

Trialing British PMs for Bloody Sunday?
    Trialing Clinton for Sudan?
    Trialing Bush for Afghanistan?

Or is Israel the only one disallowed to protect itself?

      Just smile and wave.

And if they try anything, let the Mossad have at them.

Don't forget to try Canada for burning Washington in the war of 1812!
        I refute it thus!

That would be an attack against a NATO state. You know what that means.

Canada didn't burn Washington, that was the Brits.

            What's the Problem?

Just kidnap some Belgian leaders and put them on trial for being anti-Semites and *******s. In the mean time, try to figure out that in English, the Belgian officials dirtying their pants and begging for mercy are going to be tried, not "trialed" when the plane lands at Ben Gurion airport.

We do that, but frankly Israeli politicians look really ugly when they smile.

And if they try anything, let the Mossad have at them.
              Naah.
It's tied up with the UN

You know that according to the families of the 3 kidnapped and conisdered dead Israeli soldiers, on the tape recording dragging of Hezballa vehicales by UN, calls are heard in english "f*ck the jews" and such?

And then say they weren't cooperating

That would be an attack against a NATO state. You know what that means.
You really think we're as primitive and stupid to "attack" belgium for being stupid?

We've already dispatched our deadliest and most attrocious weapon against Belgium.

              Lawyers.

We should hire Johny Cockren or something

Just kidnap some Belgian leaders and put them on trial for being anti-Semites and *******s.

Why, Natan, that would be .... not nice

Canada didn't burn Washington, that was the Brits.

Where did you get that from? Since I don’t have a clue of what you’re talking about mentioning your source would come in handy.

I heard about that on the radio yesterday morning (so it wasn't just Israel), but haven't found any links.
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

                        Siro:

"for the bombing of Lebanese territory"

Terrorist positions, or civilian targets in Beirut ?

Apart from that, while it is a positive development that international is enforced also against heads of states and the like, there is the risk of creating a jurisdiction anarchy.

Just consider Clinton under Sharia law.

So not the "belgian parliament", but some lawmakers.
They have not "decided", but stated an opinion.
And notheing's been "decided" yet, at all.
