I always love it when people come up with 'late evidence' if they just mean that a new person came with a new interpertation of the same information we already have for centuries.

I'd love to see the new evidence as well !

About the top 5....................
that's pretty hard for The Netherlands I think.

I would list :

1. Willem van Oranje
2. Thorbecke
3. Lubbers
4. Willem III
5. no blue

He was king when France and moreover 'Deutschland' was not yet on this earth.

For France I would said :

1) Francois 1er (enlighted)
2) Louis XIV (Strong King)
3) Napoleon (Strong Despot)
4) Charles de Gaules (WWII, France reconstruction, Beginning of European union ...)
5) François Mitterrand (...)

Lot of them, wasn't 'nice & kind' guys, but they were strong rulers.
