  • Plane Flies Into Building

Just heard an announcement that a Cesna plane flew into a 42 story building in Tampa. The pilot was a student and didn't have clearance for take off and was tried to be talked down by air control... anyone got more info on this?

15 year old pilot at the controls, flew into the 20th story.

You know it's ****ed up when someone who can't even legally drive a car gets to fly a plane.

Um... you can (provisionally) drive a car at 15 in some states, IIRC.

Personally I think even 16 is too young.

Well yeah you have a permit, not a license, meaning you can only drive with your parents in the front seat with you.

David... presumably this pilot wasn't on his own either...

It does seem rather stupid however.

Maybe the co-pilot (instructor?) took over... maybe it wasn't the kid after all.

As basic flying errors go, not spotting a skyscraper tops the lot I think.

The amount of times I used to do that on Flight Sim 5, but I was usually trying to fly between them.
