We knew something was going to happen and told you. But as usual, the CIA preffered to ignore the information.

He said he was 'planespotting' or some other nonsense. We never heard of it, so we put him away.
        He's got the Midas touch.
But he touched it too much!

Do not any of you politically adept persons see something more here in the timing of this. The USA have been watching the alledged Israeli agents for some time. Making a big public splash about it now will give the US goverment much more room to manuver (in public opinion and politcs here at home) for woodshedding or publicly slapping Israel, say at an upcomming UN Security Council vote over the situation inthe occupied territories.

Weel, its better than my spelling, anyway. Suspician that this is conditioning the US electorate for a chill in relations with Israel will be strengthened if more "Israel is doing us dirty" revelations are made, say releasing classifed info on the attack on the Liberty.

Lefty, much as I'd love to see relations chill between the US and Israel (precisely BECAUSE of the Liberty), I really don't think Bush would go for that. Could be wrong though, it's happened a coupla times in the past

                          ??

Had they been actually participating in terrorism - fine.

But they were spying on terrorists. and the usa.

                          So what's the problem?

Unless we weren't sharing information, in which case I'm gonna be very pissed at my government.

But still, you boviously understand the need for us to pick up our own information.

It was published by an ex-employee of MI6, that the agency knew in advance about the plans of terrorists to bomb the Israeli embassy, and they did nothing about it. They didn't stop the terrorists, neither did they inform the Israelis.

So, knowledge is of the essence.

This is true under the prerequisition that someone gives a flying toss about USA public opnion

Whether one gives a toss or not, this eventually defines reality.

While you think much of yourself, the EU is one lousy arab-kissing body, with no influence outside europe.

Oh, and more about the Israeli involvement in the attacks.

ICQ is an israeli invention, and mirabilis was originally Israeli. As you know, many ripoffs came to be later, including AOL IM, MSN Messanger etc.

One such ripoff, is another Israeli product named Odigo. Odigo has offices in America.

Some hour before the attack, messages about it (dont' recall the actual content) somehow were sent by someone to an Odigo official, via the Odigo Messanger.

The company immediatelly contacted Israeli security forces and the CIA and FBI.

                          BECAUSE of the Liberty

                          You still remember that??

A General Accounting Office investigation referred to Israel as Country A and said, "According to a U.S. intelligence agency, the government of country A conducts the most aggressive espionage operation against the U.S. of any U.S. ally."

A Defense Intelligence report said Israel has a "voracious appetite for information."

"The Israelis are motivated by strong survival instincts which dictate every facet of their political and economic policies," the DIA report said. "It aggressively collects military and industrial technology and the U.S. is a high priority target.

This makes sense, nothing to be ashamed about.

Spy 'til you drop. It does good to your country and it is very useful to spy a superpower that has many many very well equiped espionage units all over the world.

But I thought that CIA and Mossad were like bother and sister already exchanging a vast area of intelligence?

BTW, Israelis could never have participated in the attack or even let it take place if they knew something about it.

Even if they had calculated to a certain extend the pros and cons of letting the terrorist hits take place (assuming they had knowlwdge which I seriously doubt) the whole deal is too unprecedented to fully assess what would follow and wether it would be in favor of Israel as a whole.

In other words this report from Fox (which is like a KGB chanel is it not? same "objectivety" and "independence") I thionk tries to freeze american israelis on their tracks in the event the US has to piss off Israel in the future.

It tries to create a buffer zone into which the US government will have more freedom to navigate.
I hope americans are not so easily misled.

Israel has everything to gain from staying in good terms with the US.

now that you mentioned it. last week: 70 violations of greek airspace by some turkish planes. 40 greek F-16 chased them back to their side of the pond.

turks must be getting uneasy about the euro army...

expect more "attacks" when we shape the rules that guide it the way we want

edit: by the way they remain... horrible neighboors. you don't violate anotehr country's airspace. HOW HARD IS IT TO GET IT THROUGH THEIR SKULLS?
