ok i use this example. China,Europe and Mexico will not put sanction on America because they woould lose are market. Which basically would leave them with ****loads of inventory and no one to sell it to! And, a few million laid off Euro, Mex, Chinese works

likewise wouldnt happen here over the pond... It would only take us 6 -21 months to begin producing what you guys stopped shipping.

No doubt any invading army would have a difficult time controlling the population. If it were civ.......a american city would be full of rebels/troublemakers. So Entertainers and martial law would probably do little

However, the population would not remain calm - the people would not remain unpanicked or unified like in the Blitz, 1940 (whther this is because it is a different time period or a nationality difference is for a another discussion) - look at the September 11 tragedy and the aftermath ... calm and composed? Not so much (no offense to any posters whatsoever).

Especially if cities were continually bombarded or if atrocities were used, the population might not resist so much.

The best way to attack the US/ the West is to attack its ideals - destroy symbols of power and wealth (disturbingly like the infamous attacks) - if poeple see familiar landmarks destroyed it brings the fighting closer to home and makes the country seem more vunerable.

But then again of course, it could just strengthen their resolve..

No nation on Earth is unconquerable in theory, though in practice I don't think China or the USA or the EU can be conquered anno 2001.

Any invasion would go through Canada and/or Mexico.

Getting troops to Canada wouldn't be too hard. Greenland is Danish (thus European) teritory. Move troops along the line: Europe-Iceland-Greenland-Canada. Use European/Canadian navies and airforces to protect that line. The US' navy is stronger, but won't have much air support (except planes from carriers). European/Canadian airforces can station their planes in Scotland/Iceland/Greenland. This way the transports can be protected since the Euro-Canadians will have a clear air-superiority along the line.

Protecting European mainland won't be too hard either. There are no places from which the US could launch an effective invasion, and the Mediterenean (sp) will be closed to American ships. Nowadays the Arabs aren't too friendly towards the US, and would certainly not allow American troops to be stationed there to attack Europe. Israel is an option, but US troops in Israel would seriously piss of the Arabs. And that still won't do much good, since Europe's fighter airforce is bigger than the US' fighter airforce, and the bulk of America's airforce will be stationed at home anyway.

All this would be made ten times easier if China, or some other nations (how about the old Commonwealth?) would keep the US occupied in Pacific. Then the American navy and airforce would have two fronts to worry about.

Russian aid would make things even better.


Russia could invade Alaska, and then go south through Canada entering the US and taking Seatle.
Euro-Canada could move south along a huge border that can't possibly be defended everywhere, invading the North East and/or Midwest.
China/Australia/Mexico/India would move from the south into the US, thus creating a third front.


Of course, this will never happen, nor do I want it to happen, and it's totally ridiculous to think that it will happen anytime soon.

yea I have no doubt if the world united, America would be in trouble. Just one foothold on the new world is all it takes....

China would send millions across the bering straight during winter (oil...gone) Europe could lay waste/capture our airforces in Rammstien,etc... (bye bye 1/3 of airforce). Maybe combine paradrop into canada from greenland might work in getting a foothold. EU/world could let Iraq take out Kuwait and Saudi Arabia so world oil prices would be lower to meet war demands for aggressors. Australia conquers New Zeeland for the hell of it...Russian subs lay traps for our carriers...

I think MarkL is (slightly) wrong. It isn't that the world doesn't have the Balls to stand up to the US, but it isn't profitable to the the coalition of richer nations to go around picking a fight with the world's biggest economy.

(also, I think th' rather large American Sub fleet would sink quite a few EY vessels, even moving along the GL-I-UK line.)
