and we have paid our dues, so our opinions matter more
Still, newbie perspectives are refreshing. Keep posting...

(BTW For the record, I may be an Apolyton Newbie (well after a year or so of lurking), but I'm by no means a Civ newbie, played and own Civ, CivNet, and Alpha Centauri)
I can't believe this is an actual topic in this forum! Who cares if "newbies" repost questions. Thats what forums are for, to help people. I almost reposted a question that has been answered before, but it was pure luck that I found it when using the search function. That method doesn't work all the time. I don't have the time to read through 10000+ posts looking for an answer so I'll just repost a question.. Big Deal? I think reposting questions and posting opinions is much better than posting things like "HA HA HA" with bunch of smilies, and "I agree" messages that share nothing with the forum community at all. The only thing it accomplishes is to inflate a users "POST COUNT".

GEEEZ!!
This is the funniest thing. And I've noticed it as a trend among the newbies. And you are a newbie. When we call you a newbie, it's a newbie to the forums!! Not to Civ. We've been getting newbies for the last several years. And nobody ever called them new civvers. We called them newbies, cause they were new to our community.
So have fun, hang out contribute, stay a while, etc. But don't worry about us putting you down for being a new civver**
** You may actually be a good civver or not. Don't know. FYI, on this board all the old hands think of Civ2 diety as pathetically easy and they either do MP or they do things like size-one/single city spaceship wins on diety. The game has been taken to some higher levels on this site. You would be well-served, even if you're a total civ stud, to go read up on then Civ2 strat and Civ2 MP boards to see what the state of the art is...

Jerry, you're missing a very important part of AH's post. There are other parts of this site. Nobody expects you to read every post before starting a new thread. But you'd be very well served by reading a handful of threads in the Civ3 Strat, and Civ2 MP and Strat forums. Not so much for specific infor but to better understand what expertise is available.
Try it. Trust me it will be time well spent and you'll LEARN.

Trust me I'm not a good civver I just play for fun every so often after work to unwind, so I try not to worry about being well versed in the latest strats, besides why follow a check list for what to do to win, when you can stumble (and bumble) upon something that works and is more fun than following a recipe for victory. (Just MHO)
I know I'm a newbie, just wanted to point out that I'm not entirely ignorant about the game or its predecessors (maybe it makes me feel more special or something I don't know).
