I’m not so enthusiast about the idea of going to a fair either, the idea of wriggling between thousands of people is a bit nauseating to me.

Not sure whether the timing is alright as well, I might be studying for my exams at the time.

The suggestion is a bit extreme perhaps, but how about pushing it back to the Christmas period?

Hueij, there is no such thing as a 31st of November.

CapTVK's proposal sounds ok to me. I don't know how long I can stay, but I will come.

I have no real preference...but if already two people are not comfortable with the idea of going to a crowded place...we should overthink the idea of the HCC...perhaps Rotterdam wouldn't be such a bad alternative after all...

It's fine by me...since I'm not going anywhere...

My main motivation for proposing the HCC was because it's a major meeting for many computer users. I go every year and always meet a few familiar faces there. Plus the main halls are the only areas that are really crowded, the user areas and presentations are relatively quiet (or nearly empty in some cases).

I note again, we can also meet outside. There are a few cafes and restaurants in the shopping mall (Hoog Cattehrijne) attached to the station were we can meet. It wouldn't be a problem for me to pop in and out again for an hour.

As long as it's on the side next to the Jaarbeurs!

Don't you know your exam dates yet? I usually had exams in early dec and jan.

I'm no fan of the christmas period or pushing it back further. The problem is guy X can't go on a saturday, while Y is on vacation that day and Z really likes to come but he can't come because planning to do something special with Ms. S that day. Needless to say it nearly becomes impossible to decide on a suitable date.

In het kort, van uitstel komt afstel...

I thought i was the only one who noticed that!

Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

            OK...let's settle it then...

            Possible plan for 24-11-2001
For those who want to visit the HCC dagen...they could go in the morning and early afternoon...say between 1000 and 1500...we can meet with the others who don't want to enter the Jaarbeurs @ 1500 outside the Jaarbeurs...because then we will still have plenty of time left...

            Plausible...?

Seems like we have a plan.

                Yeah! Efteling!

You could hold the meeting in the queue for the Droomvlucht (sp?); it`ll give you several hours at the least.

Well, if it's okay by most of us it's okay by me...

Any chance we can get Narck to join?
Within weeks they'll be re-opening the shipyards

CapTVK, the exams will probably start in the middle of December and I don’t intend to make any day-trips in the 2 weeks before that.

Provided I do go, I think that Zopper’s proposal, meeting in the afternoon, sounds good.

Well make a meeting for next year as well and I will see what I can do about coming!

                          I'm not sure yet.
I'll think about going to the HCC, but If I'm going there I'm sure I won't go alone....... and I'm not sure if my friends would like it to meet people I only know via the internet

                            *books coach*

hey, Zopper, why can't I see a post of your mate anywhere here?

Provost Harrison - "next year" as such is actually a good idea, I might be on board then!!

hey, why not another one somewhere in that area early in the year and "you-know-what" later on?

No, I don't expect you to know what I'm talking about, just be sure you can make true what you told me you're willing to do...

I don't know what you are talking about, but it sure sounds fun (actually I know what you are really referring to: Say NO to drugs Andy )

Yeah, I am definitely up for it next year, no problem at all, and I enjoyed my visit to Amsterdam earlier on this year. Rotterdam would be an interesting visit as well, and I may even take the opportunity to see a little bit more, pop across to Germany and see Andy's vicinity

I do not come across quite as 'vocal' in real life as I do at Apolyton.
