It's exactly -- it's none of their business, hence the company's actions are legal and okay.

Ming - Christian - believes gay sex is disgusting... would never consider it personally... supports gay rights (to an extent) because it's the fair thing to do. Gays should have equal rights (except when it comes to marriage! then I discriminate...). Posts support for the cause when faced with anti gay crap... Does not believe in discriminating against groups of people...but then makes a comment about a "gay lifestyle" and mentions gays have higher rates for HIV/AIDS, therefore discriminating...calls people a hypocrit when he is the hypocrit

Feels it's OK to discriminate against smokers just like it's okay to discriminate against criminals -- it was determined by their actions.

For the record, Ming... I find it interesting you don't support non-smoking sections in restaurants...

Smokers made a choice, they can be fired for it if it reduces their value to the company.

I work for 3 different nursing agencies and have not taken any of their benefits should they still fire me for smoking? Taking into consideration these companies dont have the staff to relieve me for lunchor breaks and i end up working ove 10 hours a day but hey its the medical field right and im sure that if im in the middle of doing surgery on you,you would appereciate that i didnt just walk out at 3:00 cause that was when i was supposed to get off and nobody was there to relieve me.

1) I would never want a nurse performing surgery on me

2) That's up to the nursing agency. I'm not advocating everyone fire smokers, just that it's within a company's right to do so.

Just as the goverment has no business in my afairs as long as they are legal neither does the company i work for. as long as my actions dosent interfere with my work.

Are you aware this is blatant discrimination, from somebody who doesn't discriminate?

Or how about how you don't support gay marriage? Isn't that discrimination as well?

But they do interfere with your work -- one of your costs to the company is health care. If you're costing the company more than you should, you reduce your value to the company.

Here is a news flash for you Hun us surgical nurses do alot more in that operating room thenyou think. First of all whoo do you think sets up that surgical field and passes the insturments? The dr all he does is walk in the room and identify the areas we are working on. Believe you me we surgical nurses do a lot more then you think.

Heres another one for you the company i work for has nothing to do withmy personal choices as they dont with yours and niether a smoker or a gay man should be fired for any of these smoking and or being gay is my business not theirs.

Uhhh... I defy you to find any post I've ever made against gay marriages... as a matter of fact, if you knew how to read, you could go back to any thread where the subject has come up and see that I'm one of the strongest supporters of it.

Unlike you... just because I'm disgusted with something, it doesn't mean that I don't believe that justice needs to be served
