I could see limited air strikes to take out the nuclear reactor and the enrichment sites but that's about it. There will be no invasion because they don't have the forces to occupy both Iraq & Afghanistan, maintain their various other duties, and invade Iran.

Well stories that rely almost exclusively on anonymous sources don't really interest me that much.

I think that's about right, or that the admin is mapping for an Israeli strike. Winston could also be correct since the admin has made it clear that they're nutters enough to do such a thing.

I think that opinion in the United States is decidedly different from the rest of the world because we have a free press -- by free, I mean a virgorously presented right wing point of view on the air and available to all.- Ned

The best option in my mind is to let the Israelis handle it. They've shown time and again they don't want the Iranians or Arabs to get nukes.

Except that even the regimes that don't want Iranian nukes, like the Saudis, would have to condemn such an attack, and the grief the US would get for Letting Israel fly over Iraq, including from Iraqis, would be immense.

Actually he has. Even if his position is the same is it is before (which I doubt based on the political quiz), all he posts now is mindless reactions to whatever Bush does. I don't care whether he's right or wrong; the point is that his posts are now basically empty.

I don't think they're actually going to attack Iran, I think they're trying to be prepared.

actually if there is resistance from within, we wouldn't have to send in ground troops. Unless they get the silly notion of setting up a democracy. Because it's possible they will get another fundamentalist goverment.

We could simply conduct this war from the air.

Didn't they say similiar things about Iraq?

not that I know of. We knew we had to send in ground forces.

We did say something similar about afghanistan. And it's true, we didn't need any ground forces for that war. The only reason we sent them in was to try to find terrorists and stabilize the country.

No. Iraq was about regime change.
