Yeah, "NYC" is a bit of an exaggeration. Perhaps Midtown...

The shows were very good-excellent starts. I liked the idea of the cylons trying to wear down the humans by depriving them os sleep: thought the reason for why they ended this strategy is curious- if (IF) the way they tracked the fleet was thanks to passangers in the ship destroyed, then why sacrifice that ship in a gambit of questionable efficiency, when their ongoing plan was bound to work in the end?
On Boomer, when in the movies is the switch hinted at or shown? cause I missed it entirely.
As for the Character change- thank God Starbuck is a woman, if only because the lothario role is cliche and obnoxious. Boomer was never more than a fine sidekick, so who cares about what sex that character is? Mixing up the sexes also adds asome romantic tension unless we added gay subtexts which I think TV is generally not ready for, yet.
As for Balthar- it seems clear to me there is much more than just insanity there for his constant discussion with the woman- I think somehting wasd planted in him.
Finally, on Cylon fundamentalism- could their change into androids be part of the reason for their religiosity? Oh, and why would it be hard to find who is who? Don;t they have metal deterctors or X rays???If you don't like reality, change it! me

On the BSG website, it mentions the possibility that the base stars can manufacture their fighter complement themselves, as GhengisFarb says. It also speculates on the fighters being dronned and not manned.

You know, if someone could get the word to the fleet that person would practically be a hero. Just a suggestion, should any of you fancy yourselves the heroic type.
I wonder what's going to happen when they get to Earth and find that he old gods are all dead?"I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!

still even if they can manufacture fighters themselves that means that the resources required have to be readily available which means mining colonies/outposts or the ship has to go on its own exploration/survey missions for hydrogen, oxygen(fuel perhaps),iron, aluminum, unobtainium, etc."I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!

I think this show is here to stay...

All the outings we saw were rather short, and significantly shorter than the use of resources from the Glaactica flight crews.
I failt to see the resource issue noted. Heck, if the HUman fleet could do it, why not the Clyons. Who said it even was the same 2 Base Ships each time?If you don't like reality, change it! me

Well, it must be an extra Boomer (just as they have extra blondes), cause how could that be the Boomer that ends up on the Galactica? And when do they show real boomer go after her XO?

Aren't there supposed to be only 12 types of humanoid Cylons? The hot blond is reffered to a "6", then there is the "Boomer" type, the guy left at Ragnarok, and the man who was on Colonial One.
Perhaps the "original" Boomer was indeed a humanoid Cylon. Even though she seems to show up on Caprica to help her XO did we actually see her go backe for him? Where did she get the extra Raptor? Wouldn't questions have been asked if her ship was missing even though she was on board the Galactica?
Intersting that some of the humaoid Cylons seem to be defecting. Perhaps it has something to do with the device found on Galactica's Ops room being removed?"I say shoot'em all and let God sort it out in the end!

I don't remember the original too well, and I didn't read the book. So I think this series has potential, but you have to watch a few episodes.

So after all that it appears that the cylons did not rapidly expand and that they way overextended themselves, and that the systems weren't explored before hand(and that water sources weren't outposted/monitored/destroyed). that is just sloppy on the part of the kill bots.
