  • Yeah, "NYC" is a bit of an exaggeration. Perhaps Midtown...

    • The shows were very good-excellent starts. I liked the idea of the cylons trying to wear down the humans by depriving them os sleep: thought the reason for why they ended this strategy is curious- if (IF) the way they tracked the fleet was thanks to passangers in the ship destroyed, then why sacrifice that ship in a gambit of questionable efficiency, when their ongoing plan was bound to work in the end?

On Boomer, when in the movies is the switch hinted at or shown? cause I missed it entirely.

As for the Character change- thank God Starbuck is a woman, if only because the lothario role is cliche and obnoxious. Boomer was never more than a fine sidekick, so who cares about what sex that character is? Mixing up the sexes also adds asome romantic tension unless we added gay subtexts which I think TV is generally not ready for, yet.

As for Balthar- it seems clear to me there is much more than just insanity there for his constant discussion with the woman- I think somehting wasd planted in him.

Finally, on Cylon fundamentalism- could their change into androids be part of the reason for their religiosity? Oh, and why would it be hard to find who is who? Don;t they have metal deterctors or X rays???

        Is it?

NYC is huge by the way, even the Midtown is over a square mile.

When the ship failed to jump, the Cylons couldn't exactly let it go without the human wondering, so they switched tactics to something that would possibly work quickly without them catching on before the nukes detonated.

NYC is about 300 Square miles, plus. That would be one immense sucker. NO way.

still even if they can manufacture fighters themselves that means that the resources required have to be readily available which means mining colonies/outposts or the ship has to go on its own exploration/survey missions for hydrogen, oxygen(fuel perhaps),iron, aluminum, unobtainium, etc.

The androids are virtually entirely organic. When the Colonials got ahold of the body of a humanoid Cylon they were unable to detect the difference until the body was destroyed and they found some inorganic or other unusual chemical remains. OTOH they hypotheisize that the reason that the Cylon at Ragnarok was damaged by the radiation was because of his silicon pathways. You'd think that they could detect that. I'm pretty sure that an MRI would detect it. Maybe they have minute silicon circuits interposed within their nervous system. Still, I'd think that properly adjusted an MRI would be able to detect the silicon. There is no silicon in the human body.

You know, if someone could get the word to the fleet that person would practically be a hero. Just a suggestion, should any of you fancy yourselves the heroic type.

I wonder what's going to happen when they get to Earth and find that he old gods are all dead?

Maybe that's why they eased off on their pursuit of the Galactica.

In the UK it's quite a big hit, or at least the Sky One people are very happy with it. In the US, SciFi Channel already ordered backup scripts for next season a few weeks ago (so before they even aired the first ep) and they're expected to confirm season 2 in early February, depending how the show does in the US.

I think this show is here to stay...

At the very end, when the Cylons pick up the guy Adama had left on the space station, Boomer is among them (or maybe even several Boomers, not sure).

Who says the Cyclon fleet does not have resupply vessels?

All the outings we saw were rather short, and significantly shorter than the use of resources from the Glaactica flight crews.

I failt to see the resource issue noted. Heck, if the HUman fleet could do it, why not the Clyons. Who said it even was the same 2 Base Ships each time?

Well, it must be an extra Boomer (just as they have extra blondes), cause how could that be the Boomer that ends up on the Galactica? And when do they show real boomer go after her XO?

Who says there IS a real Boomer? I don't think this was ever specificially confirmed or denied...

                          • Aren't there supposed to be only 12 types of humanoid Cylons? The hot blond is reffered to a "6", then there is the "Boomer" type, the guy left at Ragnarok, and the man who was on Colonial One.

Perhaps the "original" Boomer was indeed a humanoid Cylon. Even though she seems to show up on Caprica to help her XO did we actually see her go backe for him? Where did she get the extra Raptor? Wouldn't questions have been asked if her ship was missing even though she was on board the Galactica?

Intersting that some of the humaoid Cylons seem to be defecting. Perhaps it has something to do with the device found on Galactica's Ops room being removed?

                            • I don't remember the original too well, and I didn't read the book. So I think this series has potential, but you have to watch a few episodes.

On the other hand, Tristan, my 6 year old boy, just figured out how Anikin is Darth Vader, and now I'll have to try to explain this to him.

the cylons are making fighters, not merely using munitions. Also the humans were running until the cylons let up, they weren't looking for resources during that period. Any supply ships would have to catch up to the fleet if that is the case that there are only a few cylon worlds, and that is what it looks like from the show.

So after all that it appears that the cylons did not rapidly expand and that they way overextended themselves, and that the systems weren't explored before hand(and that water sources weren't outposted/monitored/destroyed). that is just sloppy on the part of the kill bots.
