All which assumes Martz learns from his mistakes. The man is an ideologue who won't change his system even when the evidence says he should modify. Also, he's the worst game day coach in the league. It's too late to do so, but if he was put back in the booth, the Rams would be a MUCH better team.

    • That's sooo not true. Every week he does something different. You don't pay attention to the Rams much. He's not an idealogue. He just does things that other coaches do. If you think he will ignore the second game of the season and do things the same way your crazy. The Rams will play a whole different game I assure you of that.

      • Btw, if Martz sucks so bad than how do you explain the 2003 team finishing with a better record than the 1999 team even though they had less talent?

          • Another difference in the Rams is that they are playing a lot better against the run. In fact, they made Alexander look pretty mediocre last Saturday, especially before he got injured. They were horrible against the run in the beginning of the season.

Ah, the musings of a deluded Rams fan . He has always abandoned the run waaay too early. In fact, that may have cost them the 2001 Superbowl?

              A. I didn't say he sucked. I said he was a horrible game day coach. Everyone knows this. He's a good offensive coordinator, but has no clue about timeout usage, clock management, etc.

              B. How do you expect me to take you seriously when you get such simple things wrong?

              2003 Rams: 12-4

              1999 Rams: 13-3

And btw, how far did the 2003 Rams go in the playoffs?

Did you mean the 2001 Rams? Because if you did, I'd definetly dispute the less talent claim.

                • Upon further thought, I have flip-flopped. It is possible for the Rams to win this game against the Falcons.

The only one clearly set in stone is Steelers v Jets.

                  • While I'm not a huge fan of Vick's, that's mostly because of all the hype. I hate hype. But I feel a need to give him his props. His last two years healthy, Atlanta has been in the playoffs. When he's injured, Atlanta sucks.

Obviously, it's not just Vick. It's a team game. Just like the Bears could only win with Urlacher in the lineup, Atlanta is dysfunctional without Vick. He has intangibles, leadership skills, and mad footspeed. God forbid he should ever get a receiving corps.

It's hard to come out and say that a guy with 2300 passing yars, a 14/12 TD/INT, and a QB rating = to Tim Rattay (and worse than patrick Ramsey!) is that good. But it's about winning, not about fantasy points.

                    Mike Vick's a winner.

Of course. 2001 sorry. And yes the 1999 team is known as on of the most talented team in history. The 2001 team was just another team.

edit: damn! I did it again. fixed

They lost a lot of players in those 2 years.

Did they have Kurt Warner? Yes. Did they have Marshall Faulk? Yes. Did they have Torry Holt and Issac Bruce? Yes and Yes. Did they have Ricky Proehl and Az-Zahir Hakim? Yes, yes.

Every team loses players... the Rams had all the star players. The only 'big' person they lost was Kevin Carter. Big deal.
