  • Are You Ready for Some Football - Play Offs

Posted by bfg9000 in the last thread...

Ming is really slipping. This one is way past 500 posts.. Maybe he's too depressed over Bears season to care anymore..
Nahhh... just busy during the holidays... and while the Bears do suck, it's not worth being depressed over. It's not like we expected greatness from this year with an entire new coaching staff... and once Rex went down...

So here is the new thread... the old one can be found at:

    NFC Playoff seeding and predictions

    1. Eagles
    2. Atlanta
    3. GB
    4. Seattle
    5. Minnesota
    6. Carolina

    First round:
CAR at GB - winner GB
MIN at SEA - winner MIN

    second round:
MIN at PHI - winner PHI
GB at ATL - winner GB

    championship
GB at PHI - winner PHI

If PHI meets PIT or NE in Super Bowl, they lose. If they meet IND they win only if Owens plays. Otherwise, they win against remaining teams regardless of whether Owens is back or not...

The NFC's easy to call. It's the AFC that's tough. The Steelers, although they're the best team, are probably not best in a playoff environment. New England probably has that honor. The Colts are red-hot, but they don't win playoff games much. Then there's the Chargers, who could pull an upset, and then the 6th wildcard will be dangerous. Very dangerous. Especially if it's the Bills.

I guess you don't care about the AFC.

        1. Pittsburgh
        2. NE
        3. Indy
        4. San Diego
        5. NY Jets
        6. Denver

Denver vs. Indy - winner Indy

NY Jets vs. San Diego - winner San Diego

Indy vs. NE - winner Indy

San Diego vs. Pittsburgh - winner Pittsburgh

Indy vs. Pittsburgh - winner Pittsburgh

        Superbowl
Pittsburgh vs. Philly - winner Pittsburgh

And all of them are scared to death of the Bills.

Unfortunately, I see Denver winning and thus Buffalo is out (even though they get the gift of Pittsburgh resting its starters at home).

Yeah i know. I don't see Denver losing this one either. Even if Tony Dungy said he would treat this as a regular game.

I see Denver losing. The Colts have the longest running streak of anyone other than the Steelers.

I see Indy pulling its starters after a series or two.

                    Same here, unfortunately.

I'd really like to see the Bills in the playoffs and i think they might upset some big names, but realistically, i don't see them going the whole way. I just don't think Bledsoe has what it takes to take a team to, and ten win, the big game.

I don't see the complaint that Bledsoe doesn't have what it takes to take to a team to the big game (winning it, perhaps). He has been to a Superbowl as a starter before.

Oh, and two years ago, the Falcons went to Green Bay and destroyed them, so I don't see GB winning at the Georgia Dome. And if they have to get past Carolina, who are hotter than Hell at the moment, then I don't know if they'll make it.

I don't think the Bills can win the big game, but at least they can get in and then do something earth shattering, like knock off Indy and NE in consecutive weeks.

That's what i said. He may take them there, but i don't think he's got what it takes to win it.

Oh, the syntax made it confusing. It seemed like you were saying Bledsoe doesn't have what it takes to take them to and also win (2 seperate parts). To be fair, that Packers team was excellent and I think Tom Brady (or today) wouldn't have beaten them either.

I realized it: i even edited it to try and make it easier to understand but gave up on it.
