Anti-Christian attitudes in the U.S.? Would Jesus use this much electricity?
used to drive around with my buddies around xmas time, and we would reposition people's reindeers into ****ing positions... ROFL
I used to sit out in halloween and beat the asses of people like you who tried to smash pumpkins. Feel free to stop by my house this Christmas
"The DPRK is still in a state of war with the U.S. It's called a black out." - Che explaining why orbital nightime pictures of NK show few lights. Seriously.
I'd pick Sava... he's crazy enough to do anything!
“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
- John 13:34-35 (NRSV)
My oven uses more electricity than 1000 christmas lights, so i don't know what the problem is. Mostly just punk (or should i say drunk) kids taking out their issues on ornaments.
Of course, you yanks go too far with your christmas lights, but people should at least mutilate themselves before attacking anything else.
they defend the Bill of Rights and no one else does, except for the NRA, which I support on some stuff and not on others.
The only people I see defending the BoR are libertarians and a tiny minority of conservatives. The ACLU and NRA merely support the amendments they like and ignore the ones that get in the way of their ideology. Two examples:
1) The ACLU is nowhere to be found when states/localities want to ban or severely restrict guns, yet they rely on the 14th Amendment to go after states and localities on the dubious argument that a nativity scene "establishes" religion. And of course the ACLU loves using the government to "re-distribute wealth" even though that was not the purpose of Congress as defined by the Constitution.
2) The NRA supports the drug war, a violation of several amendments including the 1st and 10th amendments.

Oh, really? Well, it sure is funny how the ACLU attacks Christians and Jews, but leaves people of other religions alone.
You mean the same ACLU which has vigorously defended the right of Christians in schools to wear their religious symbols? The same ACLU that has defended the right of Jewish students to wear the Star of David?
You haven't a clue what the ACLU does or what it stands for. It's about protecting civil liberties, period--not just those of Christians. You just happen to not like it when it fights against your group imposing its views on others, but I'm sure you're all for it when it's defending your side.
Originally posted by Berzerker To be a Christian one must follow the doctrine of that religion as defined by it's founder(s) just as atheists must follow a certain doctrine to qualify as atheists.
All someone has to do to be an atheist is lack belief in a deity. No "doctrine" necessary. There's no such thing as "atheist philosophy," it's simply a state of non-belief.
Well, it depends on *who* your murdering. You are granted a Class A Damnation Exemption by God(tm) if you murder:
-Gays
-Blacks
-Christians who dont think exactly like you
-Communists (US Scale)
-Moslems
-Jews
-Russians
-Asians
-Africans
-Brownpeople
-Liberals (US Scale)
-Women (Additional restrictions may apply, see packet)
Otherwise, no, he wouldnt
Actually, if someone did that and called themselves Christian, they might get labeled as a terrorist.
Berzerker, your point is conceded. Apparently I completely misunderstood the logic in your statement. My bad. But you know, according to statistics coming from thousands of different sources there are millions upon millions of Christians in America. If I had to guesstimate how many Christians are in America, I would put it in the 30-40% range compared 50-65% other religion and 5-10% atheist/agnostic/deist/theist.

<--- Quote by Former U.S. President Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt
"And there will be strange events in the skies--signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And down here on earth the nations will be in turmoil, perplexed by the roaring seas and strange tides. The courage of many people will falter because of the fearful fate they see coming upon the earth, because the stability of the very heavens will be broken up. Then everyone will see the Son of Man arrive on the clouds with power and great glory. So when all these things begin to happen, stand straight and look up, for your salvation is near!" --Luke 21:25-28
For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a commanding shout, with the call of the archangel, and with the trumpet call of God. First, all the Christians who have died will rise from their graves. Then, together with them, we who are still alive and remain on the earth will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air and remain with him forever. --1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Must I give you examples of the ACLU's treachery?

You mean when they prevent the Christians from turning the US into a theocracy?

the ACLU criticized a separate ruling that upheld the transit agency’s decision to reject ads submitted by a Christian church group.
In a separate case, which was combined with the marijuana policy reform ads lawsuit for the appeal, the court ruled that the transportation authority had the right to reject ads submitted by the Church of the Good News. The ads criticized the secularization of Christmas and promoted Christianity as the "one true religion." The ACLU of Massachusetts filed the lawsuit in 2002 charging that the transportation authority violated the religious liberty and free speech rights of the church.

Gitmo better expand to hold a lot of southern rednecks then.

the Constitution gives the Federal and State governments the power to tax, and since the Constitution was amended to allow income taxes, you have no argument.
LINCOLN --The American Civil Liberties Union of Nebraska today announced that it would defend a Presbyterian church from a forced eviction by the city.
"There's no reason for the city to force the Church of the Awesome God from its home, and the city is violating both the First Amendment and federal law in doing so," said Tim Butz, Executive Director of the ACLU of Nebraska.
"The First Amendment guarantees the right to free exercise of religion," ACLU of Nebraska Legal Director Amy Miller said. "A church cannot be forced to close its doors unless the city can prove there is a compelling reason to shut them down. In this case, the church is a small congregation that causes no problems for anyone. The city has failed to provide a single reason for ordering our clients out, though we've been requesting a reason for many months now."
