It depends. Math curricula is generally crappy in the US (calculus is definitely not the norm for high school students, though there are plenty of exceptional schools), but it's better than that in Europe and Canada.

You honestly think the math curricula is better in the US than in Europe or Canada?
You are aware of the recent study which put most of western Europe and Canada well ahead of the US w.r.t. math?
Calculus was the norm at my high school, anyway. It was pretty much assumed you took it unless you requested not to."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

I've been studying multi-dimensional super string theory and how it relates to quantum gravitation for fun. That and Kerr black holes."And so, my fellow Americans: ask not what your country can do for you—ask what you can do for your country. My fellow citizens of the world: ask not what America will do for you, but what together we can do for the freedom of man." -- JFK Inaugural, 1961

Yes, that says exactly the opposite of what you stated."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

Ohhh, I see now.
It's ambiguous and can be taken both ways.
You meant "that" to describe the curricula in the US:
It depends. Math curricula is generally crappy in the US, but it's better in Europe and Canada.
would've been more clear.
I interpreted "that" to describe the curricula in Canada and Europe:
It depends. Math curricula is generally crappy in the US, but it's better than that [found] in Europe and Canada.
It can be used both ways in English."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."
Ben Kenobi: "That means I'm doing something right. "

Well, I'll be sure to run my post through a spell checker and triple-check it for clarity next time.
Specifically, what "that" referred to was the parenthetical comment describing the state of the US curricula."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before. He is full of murderous resentment of people who are ignorant without having come by their ignorance the hard way. "

I was taught that the sentence should be semantically unchanged when parentheses are removed, and they only exist to add clarity or extra description."The issue is there are still many people out there that use religion as a crutch for bigotry and hate. Like Ben."

What possesses you to parse a post of a person up 30 hours?
**** your English grammar. I'll be out of the primarily English-speaking would in half a day anyways."Beware of the man who works hard to learn something, learns it, and finds himself no wiser than before.
