It's not a matter of princples. It's a matter of necessity. The NEP was necessary for it's time. Trotsky's plan was necessary for its time. It's not a matter of supporting one over the other.

Does your system at least have as much flexibility as the capitalist one (i.e job mobility is possible even if difficult) or not at all?

I believe in some flexibility, but the priority is getting the 'socially necessary' work done, and by those who have the capability to do it.
