Nope. It's the best system out there. As Drake says, the season has to matter. This way gets a playoff with the season mattering. It rewards teams that can win their own conference.

the season does matter, which is why when you do well, you will go the playoofs in my system. in your system, if you do well, you sometimes go, sometimes dont, and if you do poor, you sometimes go sometimes dont.

Looking at the PDF posted by Solomwi, it only factors in wins and losses of the competition, meaning if the raging cajuns dominated the sunbelt they would be considered a formidable opponent. I'll stick to the SOS used by the computers.

Ahh, that would be the one that considers Harvard a tougher oppoenent than Alabama and William & Mary a tougher opponent than Big East Champion Pitt. Yes, the computers are much better.

Besides, Monroe and Citadel, at a combined 8-13, hardly helped Auburn's SOS in that measure.

I dont' know about you... but I've seen 100's of different SOS comparisons... all done differently. I can find you a bunch where Auburn is low man

Official... well, yeah, it did come from the NCAA. But did you look at what it is based on. It's a pure Win/Loss percentage... So if you play a team in a weak conference, that happens to have a great record but didn't play anybody, and win... that's better than playing a good team in a tough conference who has a 500 record. That's not a very "official" view of SOS
