The US defeated Mexico and Spain without any help from allies and stalemated (barely) the British Empire in 1812 but I admit those are the only 'go it alone' US wars I can think of.

"Go it alone" wars aren't exactly hallmarks of national pride. If anything, they are usually imperialist excursions done for the purposes of furthering hegemony.

After taking into account things such as technological and numerical superiority, plus loads of $$$, and many other factors, it still takes most of the US Army to fight them. Not exactly "pwning."
