Immigration laws should definitely be loosened

It's a loss for America when people leave it

Its much, MUCH easier for illegal immigrants to enter and work in the US than it is to legally immigrate here. Why should the government encourage legal immigration when its already dedicated to unlimited, cheap illegal immigration coming accross the Southern Border. Did any of you read the Time magazine article a month or two ago on illegal immigration? Frightening.

Hmmmm, I'm 8th generation Australian, my ancestor came out here from Dublin in 1825 - unbelievably, I just found this detail about Dublin out today from the man at the Post Office who served me and turned out to be my second cousin!!!

The truth is people have always been going backwards and forwards between the old and new country.

We still call ourselves Irish but 8 generations is a long stretch.
Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..

Look, I just don't anymore, okay?

Once again, the Constitution comes into play. I doubt any judge would say stopping all people who were a certain race would be a reasonable search and seizure with probable cause.

I hear Nova Scotia is arranging tug boats to move the Statue of Liberty to a more appropriate home in Halifax harbour.

                        Good or bad idea? Comments?

A lot of the one-way demand has to do with proficiency in a foreign language. Many Americans just aren't proficient in foreign languages like French, German, English...

But if the French and Germans are proficient in English, then the problem is solved.

And to think that President Bush is not going to do anything serious about illegal immigration.

Instead, he wants to give ILLEGAL immigrants, jobs.

His plan makes some sense if I understand it correctly. You get them to make themselves known, improve the economy, pay taxes for a few years and then get deported.
