True. There´s just a minor flaw in your assessment:
Why do Americans always compare themselves to single countries when they piss off dozens at a time? At any time there would have been the power to stop the US, even in 1999.

They just can't believe that everyone didn't vote for Kerry. After all everyone they knew voted for him.

But I voted for constipated. That steak I had for dinner is still holding on for dear life.
Metamucil added to your diet might help with that in the future.

      • I'm going to have to go with Sad. But see, I don't think I would have felt any different if Kerry was elected, it's like that with a lesser of two evils election. Better the devil you know than the one you don't?

I am optimistic that Bad Things are going to happen, but also nervous given that feeling schadenfreude is quite inappopriate - when Americas economy goes poopy the effects will be quite global. Theres no point in getting frustrated or constipated over it, so I'll stick with sad

Argue all you want about whether their nation is in decline or on the rise - the Patrician (Republican) citizens of Rome (USA) don't give a fig for the opinions and feelings of the effete intellectual citizenry of Ancient Greece (Europe/Canada). Rome will exercise power when and where we see fit, and there are none to say us nay.

React in laughter or horror as you see fit, it is what it is.
I thought that one of the reasons Kerry had trouble connecting with some voters was because he was too patrician

How many of them did we waste? The fact we figured that ****hole wasn't worth our time being in doesn't mean we didn't have the capability to deal a lot more damage and to stay a lot longer.

Running us in circles and being a pain in the ass, yes. Kicking it, not by a long shot.

Kerry was their best shot. No one else running stood a chance.

Because getting a coalition of countries together to dick around with us in a concerted way would be pretty tough. Too many agendas and too many sets of perceived self-interest and strategic goals to meld together anything substantial enough to do us any damage.

*news flash* we won every battle in Vietnam. We kicked their ass up and down the block. Vietnam war was an absolute success.

It just so happens the war was unwinnable

Hm, US-flag, "Leeds, UK" as location, identifying as Spanish....

                            Now I am slightly confused...

                              • It's easy to explain. Oliver fled to Britain after the Spanish gave in to terrorists. Why he flies an US flag and not one of Norfolk Island, Tuvalu or Antarctica like everyone else, is however a complete mystery.
