Which is exactly why you're losing blacks to the Republican party. Not everyone wants to be given racial preference, especially when that preference basically states that blacks can't make the grade and should therefore be given a lower standard. Racism, making a stronger Democratic party.

All affirmative action does is recognize the 500 or so years that blacks have been officially treated as 5th class citizens. Its called a head start in light of a monumental historical **** up. Sure its not fair, but neither was slavery, asshat

Bush has been kinder to the military than any president since Reagan. It's why 2/3 of the military and their families support him. It's why you couldn't find someone in the military that liked Clinton. You aren't going to win an argument saying that the troops support Kerry over Bush.

Then maybe you should take it up with the African Kings who sold them to us in the first place. Slavery is Africa's number 1 money maker even today. But all that aside, you aren't doing blacks a favor by saying they should be held to a lower standard. All that does is perpetuate the education gap. Affirmative action by definition is racism. Racism never helps anyone, even when it's done to try and help a particular race (it was actually created just to get votes for the Democratic party). There are plenty of educated blacks out there who made it without affirmative action, Rice being one of them.
