We have had small improvements here and there but the problem is that for lack of a better way to put it his kidney is poisioning his body. There are levels that they check called bun and creatin. His bun should be at 10 and it's at 156 his creatin is at 8.2 and if I understand right it should be at 4 or 5. And don't even get me started on his blood sugar he is also a diabetic and had a triple bypass 4 years ago. His blood sugar should be around 100-115 it's been running between 230 and the other night it was 356.

So they put in what is called a stint to alllow urine to flow better through his kidney hoping the levels will drop. It's a minute by minute day by day wait and see. The next 24 to 48 hours will tell the tale.

It's tough, I lost my Father about 3 years ago and this triggered memories. This is the fate awaiting us all But don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

No, this has been very good. There is no way to be sad for someone who has done everything they ever wanted to do and accomplished them in their life. He's had a great life so you can't be sad. Now it's my turn to be of service to him and to make everything easy for him.

There is no sadness only laughter and lots and lots of jokes. He loves to tell jokes and flirt with the pretty girls so he's having a good time with all the cute nurses. It's 6 am here and we will be leaving in the next hour for the 5 hour trip up there so there will be no news until tonight when I can get to a computer to update. Just keep good thoughts that his levels drop and the poison continues to come out of his body.

More then I can express for all the prayers and good thoughts I thank you and appreciate it.

Yes and no. How's that for a straight answer. Going aginst him he is 81, triple bypass, loss of one kidney due to tumor, 3 prostrate surgery's, one stroke but apparently he has been having little mini strokes over the course of the last few months that we weren't aware of. He also now has a blood pool on the left side of his brain that is 6 mm. But they aren't going to do anything about that.

They said if his levels don't drop that yes they would do dialysis but the fear is that the kidney would become to dependent on it and not continue to work on it's on. The one good thing about it is since he only has one it has enlarged to compensate and they feel like this might cause it to regenerate faster.

What you can do for me is post good jokes not to dirty just one or two of those (he does like a good dirty joke ) but mainly ones that we can tell in mixed company. He loves jokes so the more I can tell the more he will laugh. Happiness is my main goal for him right now.

Thank you again for the thoughts and prayers....... I just realized that this has been toped. Wow. Never thought I'd rate a thread to be toped. Thank you for that. After being mentaly, physicallly and totaly emotionaly exhausted it's it comforting to come here even for a moment to a place where I consider people to be my friends and share my thoughts.
