Christianity: The belief that a cosmic Jewish Zombie who was his own father can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree...
Saying that we're spending 200 billion on Iraq when we've only spent 120 billion?
That's not something central to the debate for one--is that really going to change anyone's mind if he used $120 billion instead? Also $200 has been allotted to be spent and it will be spent, given some more time. As such I can't say that's really a distortion of an equivelent magnitude; Team Bush took a comment and remove all context from it and then adding their own.
And this is probably one of the bigger errors that Kerry has made.
"If there's a child on the south side of Chicago who can't read, that matters to me, even if it's not my child. If there's a senior citizen somewhere who can't pay for her prescription and has to choose between medicine and the rent, that makes my life poorer, even if it's not my grandmother. If there's an Arab American family being rounded up without benefit of an attorney or due process, that threatens my civil liberties. It's that fundamental belief -- I am my brother's keeper, I am my sister's keeper -- that makes this country work." - Barack Obama
Gotta agree, I've been turning against the Bushies lately because it's become a campaign of lies. Not that the Democrats don't do it too, but the GOP is way ahead on whoppers. They do it so much I can't trust anything they say, might as well believe "The Liar" - "yeah, yea-h, that's the ticket!"
Drudge? I trust him about as much as I do Franken when it comes to "balanced" political reporting.
But, hey, I'm in the minority, it seems. In America today — and, increasingly, the world — if people want to live in their own little make-believe-places, the Internet is great at fostering such environments, what with "news"-my-way blogs, Web sites and so on.
Truth, balance and objectivity are the sacraficial lambs. The day will come when humanity regrets that sacrifice. But that day will come too late to undo the damage.

What really annoys me is that the major news organiztions looks down on the news sites and bloggers because they aren't as objective, and point to their own steller records for proof.
The problem is, their records are so stellar because before the news sites and bloggers arrived, there was nobody there to point out mistakes and sloppy reporting. That's no longer the case, and their failures are coming out of the woodwork, in real time.
Drudge rocks.
Viva la Revolution!
No, I did not steal that from somebody on Something Awful.

I can't believe you wrote that a few short weeks after Rathergate. Where is your objectivity with that? I'll tell you where. Down the toilet.
The power of the press belongs to he who owns a press. Well, feel my power, buddy. I have as much a claim on readership as anyone... if I put in the time and effort into creating a product that people want to read. And I don't have to kill trees doing it.

For those who aspire to live in a high cost, high tax, big government place, our nation and the world offers plenty of options. Vermont, Canada and Venezuela all offer you the opportunity to live in the socialist, big government paradise you long for. –Senator Rubio

What is your solid contribution to the issue at hand?
