Who needs this technology, when you have plenty of clean water anyway. Desert people should be dealt with what Darwin suggested anyway. Desert = no future. It's not meant to be living quarters of humans. It's evil. Except for Israelis. But for the people in Nevada and stuff.. you have no excuses.

We don't live in a desert. We just live in a place with little water.

    Anyway, WATER!!!!!!!!!

I was wondering when this would finally happen.
          This could be big...

Could this by any chance solve things like the Golan Heights dispute? At least, I thought that was mainly a water issue, about control over the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan river.

No, not really. It's territory, and the fact that both sides want territory that "belongs" to the other side. ( The Syrians want the Galilee Shoreline, and thus access to the lake itself, and Israel wants the heights.

I can think of other applications, like sewage treatment or removing salt from irrigation water to prevent salt forming in the soil, which this technology could help. In desert areas like the mideast, American Southwest, and Australia the soils are good but become poisoned by salt over time with the use of irrigation. The water evaporates so fast the salt builds up faster then rains can wash it away. This could remove the salt from the water thus slowing down the build up of salt which poisons farm land.

I hope they power the desalinization with solar power. It would make sense since they'll be in deserts.

I say, Israelis, keep it to yourselves and make people jump through hoops to get it.
