yeah I'm pissed my fantasy football running back only got 15 carries
Running the ball against run defenses when you have Holt, Bruce and Faulk as a receiver. Now that's really dumb.

    • Here's the really stupid move that I made. I traded Eric Johnson, the TE for the Niners, last week for Travis Henry. Johnson got 14 rec. 162 yards and a TD. Henry didn't do **** again this week. The worst part is the guy I traded with wanted my other TE more, but I wouldn't make that trade.

      • Best player of the week is Wes Welker of the Fins. Not only did he run kicks back, but took over KICKING duties when Mare went out with an injury. He actually hit a nice FG! He's the first player in over 50 years to kick a FG and return a kick. Utterly amazing!

As for the Det/Atl game, I wouldn't put that much stock in a game where the head coach of one team (Det) used to have the head coach of the other team (Atl) as his defensive coordinator. I'm sure Mooch knew all of Mora's secrets, while Mooch has had some time to develop some of his own. Oh, and Atl's offensive coordinator was the O-Coord under Mooch as well . You now see why Mooch was the head coach over that bunch... but I still think Atl is a better team than Det, overall.

Oh, and Min/Hou was a barn burner! Fun looking game!

        • Two things about the Lions game: Undersized Atlanta D-line got b*tchslapped by the Lions huge O-line. Lions defensive front four were game MVP, and had Vick running for his life most of the game.

They're a much improved and better-prepared team this year, and they're making plays. Hats off to Mariucci..

          • I couldn't believe both Seattle and Arizona gave up double-digit late-game leads -- and both lost in OT.

AZ had to give up two 8-point TDs in the last 4:35 to lose that game, wasting the first decent Josh McCown performance of the year. Over 400 yds for Rattay.

            Both pretty amazing finishes.

But the game that really shocked me was the Giants just having their way with Dallas, 28-10. Dallas blew this game by missing two 4th-and-1 attempts. The first one resulted in no points on a long drive (down by 3 at the time), and the 2nd gave the Giants the ball near midfield. Definitely a panic attack by Parcells to go for it -- down by 6 with over 10 minutes left. The resulting short drive for a field goal made it a 2-posession game.

I've never seen the Tuna so depressed as in his post-game interview.
            Adversity, Dallas!

            • Well those Seatlle receivers sure dropped a lot of passes. They certainly did not look like prime time receivers. Seattle may make the playoffs, but they won't go far, IMHO.

Since we still do not know whether Atlanta is a good or just an average team, Detroit could be very good or just average itself. Time will tell.

But that injury to Williams has got to hurt big time.

              • To see Detroit tied with Minny at the top of the Division at 3 - 1 is just weird. And to see the Packers tied with the Bears at the bottom at 1 - 3 is just sweet

At least the Bears now get to move into the easy part of the schedule. Going to Minny and Green Bay, and then playing the Eagles was just brutal. We thought we would probably be 1 -3 at this point, but who would have guessed that the lone victory would be the Green Bay game...

By the way you are talking, you'd expect the Lions to have outgained the Falcons by 100 yards (Lions O line was better than Falcons D line and Lions D line was better than the Falcons O line), but that definetly wasn't the case.

Detroit had 227 yards of total offense (not bad at all by the Atl D) and Atlanta had 279 yards of offense (not bad by the Det D).

Edit: Further looking at the box score reveals that just about every stat is the same for both teams except turnovers and passing yards (Atl had a decent amount more).

What REALLY hurt the Falcons was 4 turnovers while the Lions had none. Without those turnovers, the Lions don't win the game. So it wasn't the Lions O line dominated the Falcons D line, or the Det D line dominated the Atl O line, it was simply turnovers.

The infamous Jonathon Quinn will continue to QB for the Bears. While he simply sucked in the Eagles game, they have faith in him. We shall see

The Bears say that Urlacher will be ready to go this week, and that the off week helped. Again, we shall see.

                      • I didn't get to see last week's Bears game. But, from my understanding Quinn didn't look good at all. But that Philly defense is probably the best in the NFC. Could it have been the Philly defense that made him look bad?

                        • Nah... he was missing wide open receivers... the problem wasn't the defense or offense... HE was the problem. Granted, even if he had been on his game, they probably would have lost anyway... but he looked terrible. The only time he looked good was his "two minute" offense...

Washington is a game the Bears can win... so he better show up ready to play. The off week can't hurt, so we should get a pretty good feel watching him against Washington if he is any good or not.

I've heard it said that Lovie Smiths defense exploits the strengths of LBs. The Rams always had suck LBs.

Winning the battle on the line has a hell of a lot to do with turnovers.
