I feel threatened by this guy who lives down the street from me. He is a convicted rapist, has a long list of felonys and misdemenors. I think he could kill me at any point, and has already threatened one of my roomates.

Its ok by you if I just go kill him then, DD?

There is this guy I know whose views expressed on an online forum are a threat to America and my way of life.

Was it wrong that I killed him?

            This is horrible.

I cannot believe that this happened. It's like a bad movie. I really cannot comprehend how something like this could happen.

Now, don't be too quick to judge the Chechen resistence. These people who stomed this school, they are sick and demented, but I dont' think they represent the Chechen rebels, whom I support as I supported our Founding Fathers, who would've been deemed terrorists 200 years ago if there had been such a word.

I don't support terrorist attacks (ie, those aimed at civilians) but I can understand the Chechen cause as like those held by the Polish etc during the Soviet Union.

"Just before 0900 GMT, emergency workers enter the school to recover the bodies of dead hostages, thought to be about 15.
Minutes later, explosions and gunfire are heard and, at about 0915, a group of hostages of different ages manages to escape.

The order of events is still unclear. But one eyewitness has told Russian media that one of the many bombs stuck with tape around the gym fell and exploded. The roof caved in and hostages started to run.

The attackers fired at them as they fled, prompting the troops outside to shoot back"

CNN says ten of the hostage takers are Arabs. Doesn't mean much, the Chechens have been having Jihadist help for years.

Sam Adams and Ben Franklin stormed a school and took children hostage, huh?

I don't understand why it would be difficult for the town to determine who was in the school. Hasn't anybody done a headcount of families with students who attend the school to get an idea of this? 1500 people is vastly in excess of the 300-350 people that were reported before.

Don't forget tat it was the first day of school.

Apperently, there were 300-350 families, and the authorities took some liberties in reporting it.

Note: I specifically said these people who stormed the school were not of the resistence.

But the prinicples of revolution are the same. Just because you are indoctrinated with the idea that we = good, they = bad doesn't mean its the truth. The Boston Tea Party, if held today, would mean someone driving up to the side of the boat and blowing it up. Revolution at different times employ different measures.

Don't be stupid. If the word "terrorist" had existed back in those days, you can guarentee that the British would've used the word to describe what happened in the Colonies.

I understand what TEF is trying to say. The Brits of the time would probably have considered most of the colonial leaders as terrorist if the concept had been thought of back then. And all the founding fathers knew very well that they would have been hanged if things had turned out differently. Their fate would have been the same as the Irish leaders in the early 1900s.

American revolutionaries, civil rights activist in the 60s, palistinians, chechens all have some justifications for their hate, but the difference was in how they chose to achieve their goals. IMO the palistianians and chechens have lowered themselves to the level of animals in the way they have gone about their struggles. If the Palistians and chechens kept their use of force against military targets then I may feel different, but both CHOSE the path of deliberate killing of civilians. Some want to differenciate between adults and children but I don't. The civil rights activists chose protest and civil disobedience. the founding fathers eventually chose to act against the King and his military might.

It's not enough to have a good cause. If you lower yourself to the level of animals than you deserve to be treated like them..
