Would the Horde have been able to beat the Japanese had they actually landed their invasion force?
I say no.
They did land their invasion force, both times. The second time around, the Japs held them at bay for seven weeks at Hakata before the typhoon arrived to destroy the Mongol fleet.
edit: This, of course, assumes that the Mongols existed, which they didn't.KH FOR OWNER!

Genghis Khan had 100,000 to 125,000 horsemen, with Uighur and Turkic allies, engineers and Chinese doctors -- a total of from 150,000 to 200,000 men.
Genghis Khan and his successors, to Kubilai Khan; Mongols into Europe, Mesopotamia, Korea, China and Japan.
i.e. 3 to 4 times the troops Alexander had and some 1500 years after he completed his conquests.Any views I may express here are personal and certainly do not in any way reflect the views of my employer. Tis the rising of the moon..
