      • Canadians? Perhaps it's first Germans that surrendered to Canadian troops?

        • Germans surrender one of the death camps to the British at the close of the war. I think due to the tension between some American and evil Soviet units that the Brits were called upon to deal with a number of these situations. Could be some Aussies, although I didn't realize they were in theatre. After all, Aussies are just the offspring of criminal British exiles.

Yes, Canadians, but no, not the first Germans to surrender.

                • Well, let's see, the Canadians operated on the northern flank of the Allied advance. Perhaps participating the surrender of Army Group G?

Just an absolute wild-ass guess, though.

                    • Perhaps it has something to do with the fight against Wittman in Villers-bocage but I guess that was against the brittish, and they didn't take him alive...

                      • I dont see any way to identify the location, it could be northern France or Holland. I cant see any insignia but guess Canadians. The sergeant with the movie camera is intriguing. Is it the first movie of germans surrendering in Europe?

                        • The german officer and one of the soldiers have googles. That implies that they use some kind of vehicle, doesn't give much. Could be anything from a Tiger tank to a motor cycle.

Yup, could be hard to figure the location so I'll tell you that this is a significant event for a couple of reasons that occurred in Normandy.
