  • The Kerry campaign's ad response to the SBVT. It looks like it could be very effective.
It's all he could do. He put the best face on it. However, perhaps he should have answered the charges by the swift boat vets directly. He should take the opportunity to do so. Kerry's accusatory tone needs to be offset with a soothing Kerry tone.
I came upon a barroom full of bad Salon pictures in which men with hats on the backs of their heads were wolfing food from a counter. It was the institution of the "free lunch" I had struck. You paid for a drink and got as much as you wanted to eat. For something less than a rupee a day a man can feed himself sumptuously in San Francisco, even though he be a bankrupt. Remember this if ever you are stranded in these parts. ~ Rudyard Kipling, 1891

    • Is that the ad with McCain and Bush, Ramo?

      • They're throwing too much **** at him hoping some would stick, it'd be a waste of time to address the accusations individually. Best to leave that to his surrogates.

If that is Kerry's answer then it is typically not an answer. The answer we all are waiting for is the form 180 releasing his records.

I saw an ad with McCain and Bush on the link you provided. McCain was reproaching Bush for not apologizing for some slight to vets. Is that the ad you were referring to?

              • Yes. Specifically, McCain was reproaching Bush for smearing his war record (in the Primaries).

                • Yes, that's the one he's referring to, in case you don't have broadband.

                  • I guess that is a good ad (as far as politics are "good"). I will wait and see how this all turns out. I am anxious to know the truth of all this. I won't vote for Kerry regardless because I am opposed to him for other reasons. If his military record is as he says he deserves to be cleared.

That doesn't seem to be the answer the majority of the electorate is waiting for, so I'm not sure who you mean by "we all."

Yes, Bush's backers would like to see Kerry focus more and more on this horse****, but that's about the extent of it.

Voorhees and Douglas focused on Nixon's faked photos of them with commies. It sure didn't help them.

"Thurlow stands by an affidavit he signed on July 22, 2004 in which he says of the 1969 incident, 'I never heard a shot.'"

Thurlow and his buddies can't even put together two separate articles without ridiculously contradicting themselves.

                        Those two statements aren't contradictory.

                        • He is already focused on it, Mike. "We all" are the people who really would like the truth. I resisted this slam on Kerry at first even though I strongly object to his back stabbing of his buddies after he left the war. Like I said, He deserves to be cleared of these charges if he is innocent. As far as partisans dropping it, of course they won't but wouldn't you like to know?

                            Who are Voorhees and Douglas?

Sorry, but my Bull****-o-meter is pegged on this one.
So wouldnt it be nice to see the actual reports? I'll suggest this, if Kerry thinks this is going away he is mistaken. All he has to do to is to allow us to see the real documents instead of the edited bull**** on his website. If he did that, and it clearly supported his version of the events, I would guess he would have clear sailing to victory in the election.

How can he say didn't hear any shots when there were shots going off all around him?
