It is a travesty that two ice dancers, with a 5 minute routine that beats out only a few other pairs from the few countries that do the sport, can win a Gold and up their country's medal count, while a large team of soccer players has to play a dozen games, and compete with almost every country in the games just to get the same reward.
Why? Can the soccer players do the same ice dancing routine? Different requirements for different medals. And what does medal count matter anyway? Me thinks you don't get the goal of the Olympics.
